At first I joined to create a motivating excuse to have meaningful time and to live abroad for a month each year.I liked that the course awarded a certificate upon completion, and I liked that it allowed me to realize my personal plan to live abroad for a month every year.This gap year gave me the confidence that I could write abroad and create lecture materials. I also gradually got better at packing for trips abroad. Haha.

During class I would sometimes become the model for a new massage. Each time...I liked being able to receive massages for free. Among them, I especially loved the head massage.All the local people participating in the class are kind. Sometimes misunderstandings happen because communication is difficult due to language barriers, but those are just misunderstandings. At first, my fingers hurt so much during class that I sometimes regretted it and there were many days I didn''t want to go. However, after receiving body scrubs and full-body massages at a Korean sauna, I realized that I had properly learned massage in Thailand and it was an excellent choice. 👏👏👏
#I became close with many different foreigners, and we still check in on each other.
When I first arrived, I was the only Korean. But I became friendly with the foreigners there. In particular, I got close with an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old whose mother and younger sister live in Germany as massage therapists, and a single mom who used to live in Chiang Mai and joined because she wanted to learn massage at the Bangkok main school.We went out to eat together, and we still keep in touch.

From 9 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 4 PM, starting with prayer, we did two weeks of practice, followed by a week of theory, making herbal balls, and experiences (temple, main school''s steam sauna, etc.), and the final week focused on massage technique and ended with theory (in English) and practical exams to complete the course. I enjoyed three simple but warm local meals and having relaxed free time.

They provide a book, a notebook and a pen, and training clothes (2 T-shirts, 1 pair of pants) locally. They also give towels each time. There''s a 7-Eleven convenience store nearby where you can buy everyday items like mosquito repellent and soap. I hope this helps when packing. The local staff were very attentive, but Gap Year helped a lot until arrival. Trust Gap Year! Even when you''re there, they''ll be a friendly companion. The staff member who constantly consulted with me via KakaoTalk despite my shortcomings... I want to buy them meat and soju!! 👍
