✈️ Why I joined the medical volunteer program in Cambodia
As a nursing student, I was drawn to the Cambodia medical volunteer program because it offered both overseas volunteering and travel, so I decided to participate.

    🤝 Unforgettable connections
I quickly became close with French friends I met at the accommodation and had a great time traveling together to Mondulkiri, Siem Reap, Koh Rong, and more. Thanks to these positive friends, the experience was even more enjoyable.
At the hospital where we volunteered, I enjoyed taking photos and chatting with the nurses I worked with during breaks. In particular, the leader who at first seemed aloof became a great support by helping with activities and praising me. I was deeply impressed by a male nurse who communicated with patients while skillfully handling his duties, and I resolved, "I want to become that kind of nurse too."

    🏥 Insights gained during volunteering
At first I focused only on the patients'' wounds, but later I realized the importance of looking at patients'' faces and paying attention to their human reactions. I felt great pride when patients expressed gratitude. Contrary to the sterile image of a typical hospital, the cooperative atmosphere at the Cambodian hospital gave me confidence in the nursing profession.

    😊 Positive changes
While living in Cambodia I realized that if you enjoy each moment, happiness follows. After volunteering I became a more positive person and discovered there are many happy things, so I''m less affected by hurts. It was so enjoyable that it didn''t feel like volunteering, and the best part was being able to volunteer while enjoying it rather than feeling like work.
