PROJECT INTRODUCTION
This project is focused on learning communication-centered German in the heart of Munich.
Break away from rigid study methods and learn joyfully through the school’s own curriculum. Immerse yourself in the chic charm of the German language!
1. The first step towards successful integration into German life!
For those deciding to live in Germany, whether through immigration, working holiday, or employment, start your German life with this project in the economic and cultural hub of Munich. Proficiency in the language is essential to find the job you want and to settle in. The institute is located in central Munich, making it convenient to explore the city or work on your personal projects after classes. Equip yourself with the strong asset of ‘German language skills’ through this project!
2. Struggling with German? Let’s start speaking with a focus on communication!
Want to learn German that you can use in real life? The institute where this project takes place, unlike university-affiliated language schools focused on academic learning, offers an environment where you can learn essential German through direct engagement with the institute’s curriculum. Additionally, classes are small, averaging 10 students per group, allowing ample practice in conversation. If you want to start speaking German as soon as you begin learning, join this project!
3. Safe and clean city, Munich! Study hard during the week and explore Europe on weekends!
Study in Munich, a great city for learning, and take the weekends to travel around Europe. Munich is known as one of the safest cities in Europe, offering a clean and convenient environment perfect for studying. Additionally, being a major transport hub in Europe, it is easy to travel to neighboring Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria, and other European countries. Enjoy a fulfilling language study experience in Munich, a city that is both excellent for studying and traveling!

PROJECT ACTIVITIES
■ Class Overview
- Classes start every Monday and end on Friday.
* If Monday is a public holiday, classes will start on Tuesday.
- Those with prior German knowledge will take an online level test before the project starts to determine their level.
- Levels are divided based on the 6 stages of German proficiency: A1/A2/B1/B2/C1/C2.
- Beginner classes start on the first Monday of each month (once a month).
- On the first Monday morning (before 9 AM), a brief orientation will be held at the reception. You will receive information on the class schedule, assigned teacher, and classroom, as well as class materials and textbooks.
- A certificate of completion will be issued on the last day of the project.

■ Class Schedule
- Each lesson lasts approximately 45 minutes.
- Participants can choose between Option A (20 lessons per week) or Option B (26 lessons per week).
- Beginners at the A1 level should select Option A (20 lessons per week).

■ Class Features
- Classes are conducted in small groups of 6 to 12 students to enhance individual participation.
- After class placement, if you feel the level is not suitable, you can change your level and class.
- The curriculum is designed by the institution and focuses on communication-based education.
- Classes use the institution’s own textbooks and materials.

■ Additional Activities
Experience the charm of Munich and improve your conversation skills by participating in activities organized by the institution! Activities are held 4 to 5 times a week and may include museum visits, Munich city tours, weekend outings, and welcome parties. There may be small fees for transportation, admission, etc. (Entry tickets €8-10, day trips €70-85 approximately). Detailed information will be provided by the institution to participants.

■ Project Planner's Tip
For effective improvement in German, we recommend the Option B (26 hours per week) classes. Make the most of just 3 afternoons a week to focus on conversation practice! Your German skills will improve faster than you expect!

■ Language Requirement ★☆☆☆☆ - German: This program is open to beginners with no prior knowledge of German. Classes use various materials to make learning easy for beginners. Just bring your excitement and passion for learning a new language! - English: If you don't speak German, English may be used to aid understanding. However, a basic level of communication is sufficient! |

INSTITUTION INTRODUCTION
The institution where the project takes place is a language school with over 100 years of tradition, boasting more than 300 centers in approximately 30 countries worldwide. Located near Marienplatz in the heart of Munich, the school is ideally situated for exploring the city and enjoying cultural activities after classes. The institution employs its own communication-focused teaching methods and materials, encouraging students to actively learn German from the first lesson through practical exercises and various examples. Classes are conducted in small groups, averaging around 10 students per class, to provide ample opportunities for conversation practice. All classes are taught by native-speaking teachers with university degrees or higher, and the school regularly conducts teacher training and workshops to ensure high-quality education.
The school features a cafeteria, a comfortable library for self-study, and a sunlit garden. After classes, students can continue their studies, communicate freely with friends and teachers, and engage in a vibrant community. This language school is highly recommended for those who want to enjoy life in Munich while learning to communicate freely in German.
ACCOMMODATION INTRODUCTION
1. Homestay
Live with a local German family, converse freely to improve your speaking skills, and experience authentic local culture that you can't learn in class. The homestays are directly managed by the institution, and only verified homes are offered. Most homestay families have long-standing relationships with the institution, ensuring a safe and comfortable stay.
- The commute from the institution to the homestay is generally about 45 minutes to 1 hour by public transportation, and basic bedding is provided in the room.
- Laundry is typically done at a laundromat near the homestay.
- The cost of accommodation varies depending on whether meals are provided. If included, you can enjoy German meals prepared by the host. Typical meals might include the following, though there may be some variations:
Example) Breakfast: Warm beverages (coffee, tea, milk, etc.), bread, butter, jam, cheese or ham, fruit, etc.
Dinner: Main dishes with ham or fish, vegetables, soup or pasta, etc.

2. Guesthouse
If you prefer personal space over homestay, you can stay at a guesthouse. The guesthouse is approximately 20-30 minutes by public transportation from the city center. Depending on your preference, you can add breakfast at the guesthouse. Please note that the guesthouse does not provide cooking facilities.

- If two people are participating together, you can request a double room in advance.
- Please adhere to the rules and regulations of each accommodation facility.

Munich is the cultural and economic center of southern Germany and the capital of Bavaria. It is widely known as the host city of the world’s largest beer festival, Oktoberfest, and the city’s vibrant atmosphere is shaped by its rich cultural and artistic scene. Additionally, it is considered one of the safest cities in Europe, making it a favorite among many.
After the unification of the Bavarian Kingdom in the early 16th century, Munich became the capital of the unified kingdom and the center of the German Renaissance. Despite being devastated by plagues and world wars, the city has been meticulously rebuilt, allowing visitors to experience Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo heritage up close while also enjoying the modern urban environment. With a variety of attractions and its central location in Europe, Munich is a great place to visit and easily travel to other European countries!

■ Installment Payment Information
If you are unable to pay in full, you can pay a deposit of 500,000 won and settle the remaining balance within 2 weeks. The process for confirming your participation will start from the date of the deposit, and we will check the availability and spots. It’s important to secure your place as soon as possible to participate on your desired dates and duration! (Refunds are not available once your participation is confirmed)
*However, if the start date is approaching, the schedule for paying the remaining balance may vary depending on the situation.
■ Early Bird Discount and Urgent Application Information
For all Gap Year projects, we recommend applying at least 3 months before the start date to follow the normal procedures and preparation period. We require applications to be made no later than 2 months before the start date. If you need to apply urgently, additional fees will apply for expedited processing.
*Although we will assist with expedited processing as much as possible, there will still be basic time requirements for communication with local agencies and confirmation of participation. Therefore, those using the urgent application service should actively cooperate with the Korea Gap Year operations team.
