Project Introduction
This project is a customized program designed for seniors who dream of studying English and traveling. Worried that language study abroad is only for young students, or that you lack confidence in English and have never traveled alone? Don’t worry! Everything is prepared for you—just bring an open mind, passion, and excitement! Want to travel but tired of package tours that rush you every day with tight schedules? Traveling from place to place is very different from staying in one place and living like a local. Instead of exhausting, soul-draining trips, take time away from your busy daily life to relax and dedicate time just to yourself.

Through this project, you can study English with various international friends and steadily build your conversational skills. You will become comfortable with English that once felt unfamiliar and find yourself confidently talking with foreign friends.
Experience for yourself that there is no age limit to learning! In addition, participate in a variety of cultural activities every day with a local professional guide and discover the beautiful island of Malta. Make meaningful memories with the international friends you meet, learn about Malta's culture and history, and enjoy a rewarding time!

This project includes single rooms within shared apartments. Shared apartments are set up like student dormitories where you will live with other international students. They have shared kitchens and laundry facilities and allow for independent living. You can practice English conversation with students from various countries and enjoy a pleasant European lifestyle with others who have come to Malta. Apartments receive a weekly cleaning service and Wi‑Fi, and are carefully managed by the school so you can live safely and comfortably.
- In the apartment you will live together with friends of different nationalities. As this is a shared space with diverse people, please live with respect for one another.
- Weekly cleaning covers common areas such as floor cleaning, the kitchen, and the bathroom. Other tasks like laundry, recycling, and washing dishes are your own responsibility.
- A security deposit of €100 is paid during the local orientation. This deposit covers room damage, lost keys, etc., and will be returned in full at check-out if there are no issues.
- We try to assign accommodations with students of similar ages whenever possible, but housing placement is determined by local conditions.
* In Malta there are not densely packed, tall identical apartment blocks like in our country; instead, there are a variety of low-rise apartments. Thereforeapartment types or assignments may not be the same for all participants, and accommodations are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so please해주시는 것을 권장드립니다.
* If you do not wish to stay in a shared apartment, we can arrange a homestay. A homestay is accommodation where you live with a local family; for more information, please contact Korea Gap Year at koreagapyear@gmail.com.
Region: Malta, Valletta

Located in the Mediterranean, Malta is considered one of the top resort destinations thanks to its beautiful beaches, pristine natural environment, and warm, pleasant weather. Although it is not yet well known in our country, many seniors come to Malta after taking leave or retiring to study English or to enjoy travel. Stroll along the transparent emerald sea that you can reach with just a short walk, leave your busy daily life behind, relax, and take time just for yourself.
With its relaxed, peaceful atmosphere and relatively good public safety, it is recommended for seniors to visit safely. Malta is also famous in Europe for its low cost of living, and compared to our country, overall food and transportation costs are much cheaper. Malta is a place where you can freely do what you want and eat what you want without worry—highly recommended for seniors!
