    The KGY Au Pair Program offers participants the opportunity to live with a Korean

    family, providing childcare support while experiencing Korean culture,

     language, and daily life firsthand.

     

     

    The Korea GapYear Au Pair Program is open to enthusiastic and responsible individuals who meet the following requirements:

    • Age: 18+ years old
    • Education: High school graduate or equivalent
    • Language Proficiency: Proficient in spoken English
    • Criminal Record: Clean criminal background
    • Program Length: Minimum commitment of 6 months
    • Childcare Experience: Prior experience or strong interest in working with children

     

    • Free Meals/Food: Enjoy delicious Korean cuisine during your stay.
    • Free Accommodation: Stay in a private bedroom in a comfortable homestay or residence.
    • Flight Subsidy: Depending on the program length and visa type you will receive a roughly 200 USD bonus to re-enter South Korea
    • Free 3-Day Stay in Seoul: Participants who apply during the special season offer, will receive a free 3- day Hostel Stay in Seoul, Myeongdong to get adjusted to South Korea **ONLY eligible for participants who apply before March 31st, 2025
    • Free Arrival Orientation: Get to know Seoul with our Arrival Orientation, covering local culture, language, and more.
    • Free Korean Classes: Enhance your language skills and cultural understanding with a month long online Korean Language Classes
    • Completion Certificate: Receive a certificate upon successfully completing your program.

    4 Program Confirmation  After selecting your host family, we will finalize program details, including travel arrangements, orientation schedules, and insurance information.
    5 Pre-Departure Orientation Prepare for your adventure with our comprehensive online orientation that covers everything from Korean culture to daily living tips.
    6 Arrival in Korea  Enjoy a warm welcome with a private airport pick-up and a complimentary 3-day hostel stay in Seoul to help you settle in.

    KOREAN SKILL REQUIREMENT ☆☆☆ / PHYSICAL STRENGTH REQUIREMENT

    ☞ Starting dates of this program are on Monday

    Communication will be in Basic Korean or in English, so being profiecient in of the languages will be a requirement
     
     Basic physical strength may be required because most of the activities are with energetic children. Before you start a project, check your physical strength yourself!

    ☞ The week before the beginning of the project, a local orientation will be held. Volunteers will have time to get to know more about South Korea, the working culture and some tips and tricks on how ease up the start of living abroad.

    No special qualifications or educational experience are required to proceed with the project.

    Social Programs with other participants are optional, with either free activities and a variety of activities available at reasonable prices.

    The schedule is coordinated with participants and the assigned placement 

    To participate in this program, you need to submit a Criminal record certificate and a copy of your passport, and we will inform you of the details of the submitted documents after confirming your participation.

    Welcome to the KGY Au Pair Program – where every step of your journey is carefully crafted to ensure a fulfilling and unforgettable experience!

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Age: 18+
    • Level of English and/or Korean: Intermediate+
    • Clean Criminal Record
    • Motivation Letter
    • Letter of Recommendation for Program
    • Commitment of at least 6 Months
    • Commitment to Host Family, its rules, and tasks
    • You fulfill all legal and formal requirements for your Au Pair Program
    NOTE
    • Details about working conditions such as days and hours may vary depending on the Host Family being placed.
    • Only available for age over 18+
    • Potential Placements Information will not be given out prior to confirmed application due to privacy reasons
