As the hobby for leather craft spreads, the demand for leather craft instructors is also rapidly increasing. In Korea, private institutions issue certificates, but they are not nationally certified, and there are many theoretical classes, making it difficult to put them directly into practice. Therefore, after taking classes at the Florence leather workshop, which is internationally certified and mainly offers hands-on classes, there are many more people who start their own workshop or work as leather craft instructors and build their own brands.

▷ Creating Leather Handbag Designs and Patterns: Learn about the leather patterns of various existing leather handbags and acquire basic knowledge about patterns. Afterwards, you will learn how the leather patterns needed to make handbags are used in the structure and aesthetic aspects of handbags and learn the basics of making leather patterns step by step. You will also learn the basic elements of drawing and various tools needed to create patterns.
▷ Learning about Materials used in Leather Products: You will learn about the various leather materials used to make leather handbags and the process of selecting leather, lining, inner material, and reinforcement materials according to the leather pattern. You will learn about the pros and cons of leather materials that vary depending on the size and shape of the handbag, and develop the ability to select leather materials to make the handbag you want.
▷ Handbag Making: You will learn the elements necessary to make handbags from traditional Italian craftsmen. We sketch the handbag design and draw blueprints one by one according to the handbag's components. After cutting the design into cross-sections and selecting the leather of the desired texture, the leather material, lining, inlay, and reinforcing materials are cut out according to the cross-section. The pieces of leather cut according to the cross section of the design are aligned one by one to form a handbag, and then the handbag is completed using a sewing machine. Through this course, you will learn about the overall handbag making process.
▷ Making Leather Accessories and Wallets: You will make various accessories such as key chains and cell phone rings that can be made from leather. In addition to making cases used to cover cell phones and electronic devices, you will also learn how to make leather wallets and make your own leather wallet.
▷ Making Leather Making Skills Training: You will learn how to select and select various leathers needed to make leather products and the various technologies used for leather processing. You will learn and train in leather product manufacturing techniques appropriate for the product, such as sewing directly or using a machine depending on the leather product. |

IThe educational brand and leather craft school behind this project was founded by two leather craftsmen in the 1930s after the end of World War II.
With the goal of providing a means to make a living for orphans who lost their parents or those who have difficulty finding jobs due to disabilities in countries devastated by the outbreak of war, leather craft techniques were taught.
In addition to being a brand, this organization is a school recognized around the world for imparting craftsmanship that focuses on making handbags and shoes using leather crafts. It has also become famous as a place where presidents and famous actors from around the world visit to purchase products.
Not only this, but the quality of our products is widely recognized, and people who want to learn leather craft come from all over the world.

Our brand of education began in 1950 with a social project to help orphans created by World War II learn practical skills to help them earn a living. A lot has changed and our educational brand and school are passionate about teaching Florence's unique leather craft skills to a diverse range of students from all over the world.
We train educators with craftsmen with long experience affiliated with our educational brand and work with students from all over the world to learn how to make handbags of various styles based on sophisticated and professional techniques. I find this fact very meaningful.
We believe that through this process, we can pass on our endless knowledge to the younger generation and provide them with various avenues to express their creativity, passion, and abilities. This means that new craftsmen can be trained and engage in activities with our school, and we are truly proud of this with all our hearts.

Participants are free to choose accommodation within the internship location to suit their personal tastes and budget. For project participants who have difficulty finding accommodation, Korea Gap Year recommends accommodations (guesthouses/hotels, etc.) near the internship site.)
International students can learn the culture and language of the country by staying in the general households of the country where they are staying. It is a type of accommodation that allows them to live with their families, develop their language skills through communication, and understand their lifestyle and the values and cultural styles of the people in that country.
The Guesthouse option is characterized by a shared kitchen, bathroom, and shower. One room is assigned to a 4-person room, or even 6-8-person rooms, and several friends live in the same room. When we travel to other countries for a short time, we stay in a guest house and share travel information with various travelers through short meetings.
Apartment Share is a type of accommodation in which about 5 to 6 international students living abroad rent a house and live together in that house. Depending on the condition of your home, you can choose a private room or share a room with one friend. Unlike homestay, you share housework such as eating, cleaning, and washing with your friends, not a form of home. It has the advantage of being able to hang out with friends from various countries.
Among all cities in Italy, Florence is famous for its luxury goods. It is also the place where world-famous luxury brands Gucci and Ferragamo were born and created. Large and small leather workshops that make products for luxury brands are gathered in Florence.
In particular , Florence's leather market produces and maintains a variety of leather products of high quality, enough to attract travelers from all over the world . Many students and leather majors from around the world who want to learn about traditional leather in Italy, the home of leather, gather here to learn authentic Italian leather manufacturing methods.
In addition, Florence is called the city of geniuses, with many genius artists and artists engaged in artistic activities, and many art attractions that delight and captivate the eyes of tourists, such as the Uffizi Museum and the statues of Piazzale Michelangelo, which tourists are lining up to visit.

☞ 20 Weeks (300 Hours): 10,800 Euros + 500,000 KRW Registration Fee

If you are unable to pay in full, please deposit 500,000 won in advance for the registration fee and deposit the balance within two weeks. The process of confirming participation in the project will be conducted based on the date of payment of the registration fee to check the availability and TO. It is important to secure a position as soon as possible to participate in the desired date and period! (No refund when confirmed participation)

We recommend that all projects be applied three months before the start date of the project participation with normal procedures and KGY's preparation periods, and in principle, you can apply at least two months before the start date. However, if you need to participate in the project urgently or urgently, we will help you with the procedure as soon as possible by paying an additional amount through the emergency application service.
