I needed a new change and opportunity because my confidence had dropped significantly, so I left for the Philippines. As I focused on studying English and adapting to local life, my mind shifted to a more stable state, and my confidence was greatly restored! I discovered a new side of myself that I didn’t know before :)

# Preparing for Language Study in the Philippines!
Although it was my first time staying abroad for an extended period, my desire to have a new experience was greater, so I prepared with anticipation. Oh, and even though I didn’t have enough time to prepare before leaving, if you can take your time to prepare, it might be good to study some basic English before going!
# I wanted to recharge my relaxation and confidence through this gap year language program in the Philippines!
I wanted to recharge my peace of mind and confidence during this gap year language program in the Philippines, and I wanted to show a positive attitude towards life. Also, since I'm going to a language school in the Philippines, I wanted to improve my English skills.
# I feel like it's been a while since I've experienced giving my best at something!
I feel like it's been a while since I've had the feeling of giving my best at something. While studying in the Philippines, I was able to gain confidence by tackling things I hadn't done well before, one by one. It felt like I wasn't a working adult but rather a student again, and I had a strong desire to study English, so at the beginning, I studied hard in the library right after my English classes. Through that process, I learned that 'if I focus on something, I can achieve it!' and it made me really proud!! :)
It was a really fascinating and fun experience to start conversations with friends who speak different languages while learning English together, even though it felt awkward at first. Since there was no special competition, I felt a pure friendship with my friends and teachers haha.
# People I Met During My Language Study in the Philippines!
The language school I attended in the Philippines had very few Korean students, so my Korean friends were particularly special to me. There were people who looked after me because I was worried about adapting when I first arrived, a younger friend who was very different in personality and instilled a lot of vibrant and positive energy, and another younger friend who, despite being eight years younger than me, was very mature and had a lot to teach me—all my Korean friends are memorable!
Also, my roommate Hena helped me adapt to school life at first! With Miko and Hina, who were really similar to me in personality, we had many serious conversations, Eddie who taught me how to swim, Mio who loved Korea so much that we became friends quickly, my first friend Sho, and Kihil, who was unexpectedly quirky despite his first impression, and Hiro, who had great manners and a cool image!
I really remember all my foreign friends and I miss them so much!! ㅎ
# The biggest gain I had through my language study program in the Philippines as a working adult was the time I spent getting to know myself!
Oneof the biggest gains after the language study project in the Philippines is that my mind has become more stable. And I've also learned a lot about myself, which is a big gain!
I don't think the person I knew before was the real me. There were tough parts in the process of accepting this at first, but once I realized, 'Oh, this is who I am,' my mind became more at ease. Also, I challenged myself to do things I had never tried before, like English and swimming, and by succeeding one by one, I gained even more confidence! Haha
# For Those Considering a Gap Year!
Leave your worries and concerns at home! Try to meet more friends wherever you go abroad! It's even better if you can prepare for the language aspect in advance!
When opportunities to have fun arise, enjoy them to the fullest, and don't be afraid to take on challenges you want to pursue! :)
