#Broadened perspective on the world #A rewarding volunteer experience #Need to check the volunteer intensity in advance

A special volunteer trip in Portugal''s resort area, one of the most beautiful regions in the world!
Q. Please tell us your satisfaction with the project. If you are satisfied, what did you like about it?
A. 8 out of 10
It was rewarding. However, since it varies by person, it''s a good idea to ask about the intensity of the volunteer work before participating. Before coming I thought it would be about 3–4 hours. Unlike previous Korean participants, we went to two places (distribution center and kitchen) about four times a week, and the travel distance was considerable (I took the subway three times a day).We left at 12 and arrived around 1; we distributed boxed lunches and bread, then after about 40–50 minutes we rode the subway again, got off, went into a building connected to the station, and helped with cooking.
So when there were just two of us, if we arrived around 2:30, we often finished after 6. By the time we got back to the accommodation it was well past 7. Excluding travel time it''s about 3–4 hours, but the kitchen work was quite tough by my standards. Before coming I thought it would start around 10 and finish at 2 or 3 so I''d have free time, but that wasn''t the case.
The first week I was sick and on Friday I was so exhausted that I went straight to bed, but in the second week I pushed myself to go out after finishing—have dinner or walk around. Still, it was rewarding. If you''re going to go to two places, I think it would be better to do it about three days rather than every day!
Q. Would you recommend this project?
A.7points / out of 10
It was rewarding. It made me think I should try this in Korea too; it was good.
Q. If this project brought any changes to you, what are they?
I think I began to view things more globally, compared to just traveling.
Q. Any final comments?
Gap Year has many and diverse programs. The person who counseled me when I visited...
It helped me decide on Gap Year. Thank you!
