#Reduced resistance to English, increased confidence #Valuable connections, carefree laughter #Realized what happiness means

Comparing before and after participating in the gap year project,
I wrote down what I gained.
I hope this will be helpful to those considering participating in the future :)
1. My resistance to English has decreased.
2. I gained confidence that I can also converse with foreign friends in English,
and I was able to confirm my own potential.
3. Seeing the Filipino people, I came to feel firsthand that money or education aren''t necessarily measures of happiness.
4. I wanted to travel to more countries and my horizons widened.
5. Foreign friends from various countries that I met at the language school,
and I gained precious connections — friends I promised to visit again in their countries.
6. I was able to create many carefree memories of laughing and having fun like when I was young.
7. To the point that I no longer feel embarrassed to play music and dance even in crowded places
I stopped being conscious of or worrying about what others think.
In Zumba classes or karaoke, I no longer worry about what others think; I can enjoy myself solely based on my mood and feelings.
8. Regarding the counseling work I want to do in the future, before discovering others and counseling them,
I realized I need to discover myself a little more.
When asked to describe my tendencies, I found that I still can''t properly explain myself.
9. I broke up with my boyfriend after telling him he''d found someone else.
If you ask what I gained from this, it was the first time I experienced myself being unquestionably seen as the bad person.
And being anxious about looking bad to others
I realized that this is something I fear.
Also, it became a reference experience for me.
At first I couldn''t make that decision, and I realized it wasn''t because I liked him more,
but because feelings of guilt and gratitude toward that person were stronger.
And realizing that those feelings weren''t my own standard helped me make a different decision.
10. I shared problems and worries I''ve carried through life that I hadn''t been able to share with anyone,
and I was able to make friends with whom I can continue to share.
