#Learned to love myself; gained confidence; broadened horizons #Change in perspective #Took time to reflect on myself
I thought I would be dramatically changed after six months. So I sometimes despaired at the lack of major change. But I realized that none of those things were trivial, andI feel, moment by moment, that I''ve changed more than I thought.Above all, I think my way of thinking has changed.

# Loving myself more and returning with much more confidence

Hello. I''m a student who went on a 6-month gap year to Canada.I wanted to go to an English-speaking country, and after considering various costs and circumstances, I chose Canada. Also, the fact that it''s a multicultural country was one of the reasons I wanted to go.
Before leaving for my gap year I was just excited, but as the time approached a lot of anxiety came over me. So Itried to spend a lot of time with friends and family, and I also tried to find out if I had all the things I needed and learn about the country.
Through this gap year, not only English butI set as my goal for this gap year to love myself more and return with much more confidence.
# I came to feel many things about what we must mutually respect and what I could learn from them.

I only took PM1 classes, and all classes ended at 2:10. At first I thought 2:10 was early and that I could do many things. But I found that days passed much faster than I thought. After school I spent time with friends or did tasks alone and spent time studying.
Honestly, before participating in the project, I didn''t really know what ''cultural differences'' were. But as I proceeded with the project I realized many times, ''oh, this is a cultural difference,'' andthrough that I felt many things about where we should respect each other and what we can learn from them.
# To prospective participants

Your thoughts, feelings, and experiences after starting your gap year will be quite different from what you expected beforehand. But I hope you don''t judge them as wrong just because they''re different from what you thought.
Everything will become a solid foundation that makes you stronger, and above all it will be an irreplaceable valuable experience. You may struggle by comparing yourself to others because of English ability. I did too.
''Comparison'' is one of the things you should never do during a gap year project.Don''t suffer from comparing yourself to others, and don''t collapse because you don''t meet other people''s standards,I hope you have time to find your true self and set your own standards.

# My personal Vancouver travel TIP

It''s good to find your own special, comforting spot near your home. When you''re feeling down, simply sitting there for a while can sometimes bring a lot of comfort.
Canada has many festivals. You can enjoy some on the day, but some require applying months in advance. Try to stay alert and seek out information so you can build richer experiences.
# I find, moment by moment, that I''ve changed more than I thought.

I thought I would be dramatically different after six months. So I sometimes despaired when I didn''t see big changes. But I realized that none of those things are trivial...I find myself, from time to time, realizing that I''ve changed more than I expected.
Above all, my way of thinking seems to have changed.
