#My guard around people relaxed #Gained experience interacting with diverse people #Enjoyed Busan's festivals and the guesthouse lifestyle

I liked that I was able to meet people I wouldn''t normally have the chance to talk to in my everyday circle, such as power bloggers and foreigners who have been traveling around the world for a year. When talking with people who had gathered at the guesthouse for their own reasons, it was enjoyable to listen to lives with different colors rather than asking about or discussing educational background or jobs.
- Haeundae Gap Year Stay, the place of youth! / Kim Mihye — gap-year traveler / 4-week gap year |
"Really exciting and fun"
During the gap year stay, after completing the assigned staff experience, I went around various parts of Busan.
The place I visited most often was Haeundae Beach. The beach, which has a different atmosphere by day and by night, was full of charm. Until I joined the gap-year stay, I had wanted to visit it when I came to Busan, and it was nice to be able to go there as casually as going to the park in front of my house.

Haeundae by day and night
Really exciting and funI was also lucky enough to see various festivals in Busan—such as the Busan International Film Festival and the Gwangalli Fireworks Festival I watched from a dessert cafe on Dalmaji-gil—which are unforgettable memories.
On Dalmaji-gil there is an art street where you can see works by various artists without an entrance fee. The exception is a gallery called Banana Long, which charges an entrance fee of 5,000 won. However, since you can view while enjoying a delicious cup of tea, it would be a great place for anyone interested in art or who wants to spend a quiet time.
I can''t forget life at the guesthouse either. The chimaek (fried chicken and beer) parties we sometimes enjoyed with the staff I lived with and the unlimited draft beer are among my favorite memories of Busan, and those times made all my stress disappear at once.

"Places I confidently recommend"
1st. Minrak Waterfront Park
After buying sashimi cheaply at the fish center, spreading newspaper in the waterfront park and drinking soju tastes unbeatable!
2nd. Dalmaji-gil
I would recommend the Art Street and Moon Tan Road two—or rather three—times to anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet, peaceful time.
