  •

I gained the courage to speak up without hesitation about what I feel in daily life and about the opinions I hold. I also became more open to listening to others. Through the course, I became a bit more proactive and forward-looking in how I live my life.

    - ''JaegleJaegle'' Humanities Discussion That Changes My Life / Kwon Da-eun, Gap-Year Tribe Gapper

    Q. What made you decide to participate in the course?

I hadn''t ordinarily been exposed to many books, but after becoming interested in literature and the humanities, I didn''t know where to start, how to enjoy them, or how to read. So, feeling the need for a humanities group and searching for one, I discovered KoreaGapYear''s humanities discussion course and signed up.

    Q. Before joining the course, was there anything you wanted to gain or any goal you hoped to achieve?

I needed enough experience to be able to hold a humanities group in my life after the course ended. I also wanted to continue doing well in discussions after the class, and they taught useful information such as how to run a discussion and basic discussion lines that can be used anywhere, so I think I can open and lead humanities discussions anywhere.

    Q. Which lesson during the course was the most memorable to you?

I learned a lot in every class, but what stood out was the idea—illustrated with entertaining analogies—that the humanities can offer many solutions in our minds.solutionsI remember that idea. Maybe it was because I had a kind of ''choice paralysis'' when faced with decisions. I strongly agreed with the instructor and felt that I should read books.choice paralysisI strongly agreed with the instructor''s words and felt that I should read books.

Q.What do you think are the strengths or special features of this course?

Not only did I become more interested in the humanities I had only heard about by word of mouth, the humanitiesbut it was also a great opportunity to thoroughly get through books for five weeks with wonderful people.

    Q. Compared to before and after taking this course, what changes have you noticed?

First, I developed a spontaneous motivation to read. Thanks to the discussion classes, I gained the courage to speak without hesitation about what I feel in daily life and about the opinions I hold.the courage to speak without hesitation about my opinionsI also became more open to listening to others. Moreover, through the course I have begun to live a bit more proactively and ambitiously.

Q.Who would you highly recommend ''JaegleJaegle Humanities Discussion'' to?

I would recommend it to friends who can''t organize their thoughts and have a vague fear of books, and it would also be very helpful for those who want to run a reading group in daily life but haven''t had the chance to try one.

    Q. What are your plans for the future?

I''m planning to start a reading group by cultivating a reading habit in my daily life.

Humanities and discussions used to feel vague, but now I''ll enjoy them like a hobby.
