I learned that when I become interested in or curious about something I want to do, taking more proactive actions—such as meeting people involved, conducting interviews, and gathering various information—can save a lot of time and help me reach my goals more efficiently. - 16 Weeks, the First Step to Finding a Happy Job with Instructor Choi Kyung-hee |
What led you to participate in the ''16 Weeks, the First Step to Finding a Happy Job'' lecture?
I first heard about gap years from a friend who likes to travel. I learned that many foreign friends take time for themselves before entering university, and that that''s called a gap year. Because I hadn''t yet decided on a clear career path, I attended this lecture to reflect on the direction of my profession.
Among the 16-week lectures you attended, was there any lecture content that impressed you the most?
I really liked the passionate presence of CEO Choi Kyung-hee. Before taking the course, I had many difficulties finding a job and obtaining information, but I learned about methods and information—such as interviews—in areas I hadn''t considered, and discovered stories and inside circumstances I didn''t know before. I realized that if I become interested or curious about something I want to do and act more proactively—meeting relevant people, conducting interviews, and gathering diverse information—I can save a lot of time and reach my goals more efficiently.
What do you think are the strengths or special features of the 16-week lecture you attended?
I gained a lot of information about careers and realized that the process of discovering who I am is the most important. Through answering various questions, I learned aspects of myself I hadn''t known before, and this led to insights not only about careers but in many other areas. Also, meeting friends with different concerns gave me confidence, and I appreciated being able to share information with peers who have similar worries.
I strongly recommend ''16 Weeks, the First Step to Finding a Happy Job'' to these students!
Rather than students with vague goals, those who have narrowed down the direction they want to pursue a bit will likely experience a synergistic effect from taking this class. By comparing society''s perceptions with their own values, students can establish many things, reevaluate their identity, and take a good opportunity to reflect seriously.
