#Realized that money is not everything in life #A deep realization of the importance of dreams #The satisfaction of completing the bike trip

I enjoyed meeting many people. In particular, there were many who had quit their jobs and were traveling freely, and at first I couldn''t understand how they could quit their jobs and travel... But as I talked with them, I empathized with the phrase, "I really felt that if I don''t do it now I never will, so I started traveling," and I came to a great realization that money isn''t everything in life, and how grateful it is to pursue your dreams and to have dreams.

    - Items that were convenient not to have : Umbrella

    - Items that were convenient to have : Slippers

    - Through the gap year program I participated in : What I liked, What I learned, Realizations, etc.

Car, I felt proud that, rather than traveling by public transport, I rode a bicycle under my own power and made a circuit around Jeju Island..

    - If I were the gap-year program planner, I would add or modify the following points in this program!

Aside from bicycle rental, the rest is something participants can create themselves, so there doesn''t seem to be anything to add or change..

    - If you compare before and after participating in the gap year program?

I became better at riding a bicycle..

    - During the gap year, please tell us about your personal travel route(Recommended places and itinerary, Route)

We planned it a bit more relaxed, and after departing 5We planned to return to Jeju City on the 5th day, so we could take it a bit easier, stopping occasionally to see the sea and tourist spots as we rode..

    - My personal gap year story in Jeju

A few weeks ago, a friend asked me to go on a bicycle trip. We had once planned it before but couldn''t go and it fell through, so hearing about it again made me happy.. At that time I had nothing to do before joining the military, and because I wanted to try a bicycle trip at least once, I agreed without hesitation.. And we got one more friend to join,, so the three of us decided to go and began planning the itinerary.. The friend who initially suggested it took care of all the bookings and finding restaurants..

At the airportwe arrived, took a taxi to the Blue Bike Sharing headquarters, and rented bicycles.. We decided to have a late lunch before leaving Jeju City, we decided to go to Olle Noodle House, a meat noodle shop we''d found earlier. I, having ridden a bicycle the most, took the map and led the way,, a local showed us the exact location, so we could find it easily without any trouble. Olle Noodle became our first successful meal on Jeju Island. The portions were large and delicious, so we ate our fill and mustered the energy to 1132and started riding on the road.

I usually liked cycling and had ridden a lot, but my friends hadn''t. They weren''t yet accustomed to riding bikes, and with the wind blowing as a headwind it looked really hard and they kept falling behind. As we continued riding and taking breaks, before long the sun set and 9we arrived at the accommodation only at a late hour close to 9 o''clock. After arriving, we quickly fell asleep, and thus the day passed.

The second day of the triphad arrived. Since the laundry hadn''t dried, we used a hairdryer to dry the necessary clothes as much as possible, ate a piece of the leftover chicken from yesterday, and set off. We had planned to arrive at Hwanggeumryung Burger around noon and have lunch, but 10we arrived at a very early hour, not even 10 o''clock yet, , we ate slowly, rested, and then set off again. When we arrived near Daejeong-eup, we 1132whether to take Route 1132, we debated whether to take the coastal road; since we had arrived early and it didn''t seem like it would take longer than planned, we decided to go via Moseulpo Port and follow the coast all the way.It was satisfying up to the early part. We stopped at a nice café and rode feeling refreshed while looking at the sea, but Sanbangsan was a problem.

Of course, although we didn''t climb Sanbangsan, the terrain was high because of the mountain, and we experienced the steepest incline while riding around Jeju. We set the gears to the easiest and barely climbed, but my friends gave up and were even pushing their bikes up, after spending quite a lot of time, we were able to 1132and get back onto Route 1132.

The guesthouse we arrived at on the evening of the second day was Bogumjari Guesthouse, located in the Jungmun area. Even though we arrived exhausted, we couldn''t rest immediately because the forecast said it would rain the next day, so we had to go quite far to a shop to buy raincoats, unlike the first day, we didn''t have the luck of being the only ones at the accommodation, so we spent that night not feeling comfortable physically or mentally..

Third daySince it was raining from the morning as expected, we set off as quickly as possible and decided to arrive at the next guesthouse to rest.. We put on raincoats, placed our bags in large plastic bags, tied them to the bicycles, and then departed.. The route passed through Seogwipo City, but we couldn''t stay in Seogwipo to sightsee for long and had to keep going.. We got up at dawn and rode, arriving at Padam Padam Guesthouse around three in the afternoon.. Although we arrived quickly, it was raining so we couldn''t go out and ended up staying at the accommodation all day..

The remaining nights were guesthouses we had all booked before the trip, butFourth dayit was a place we had booked by phone only two days earlier.. It was a place called Joseph Tree Guesthouse,, and we were the first guests to arrive after they had recently finished remodeling.. The location was good—close to Woljeong-ri Beach—the owner was nice, and it was a fairly comfortable place.. That day, too, we had ridden quickly like the day before, so we had plenty of time at Woljeong-ri Beach, relaxed in a café, and had a nice day..

Fifth daywas the day to return to Jeju City.. The remaining distance wasn''t far, so Manjanggul, I was able to visit Hamdeok Beach.. While listening to the volunteer guide''s explanation, we visited Manjanggul 1 kmor so we walked in and came back, It was cool to look around during the hottest time, and there was a lot to learn, so it turned out to be a quite enjoyable experience.. We also saw Hamdeok Beach, then slowly went to Jeju City, and in the evening we were able to arrive at the last guesthouse.. The next day, after returning the bicycle, I parted ways with my friends and was able to take a ferry home..

Thanks to a program called ''Pureun Bike Sharing'', I could get straps to tie the bike and my bag, and I could even rent a bicycle lock.. Because of that, I was also able to save on bicycle rental costs, I could set the rental period generously, and I was able to have an enjoyable trip.. I am grateful to Korea Gap Year for providing a great program, and I hope those who haven''t tried it yet will take on many challenges..
