Excellent value! Learn English safely in Malta in the Mediterranean (Europe)!

#Self-exploration; overcoming lethargy #Improved English conversational skills; greater self-understanding #The richness of life in Malta and a new beginning

  •

After participating in a gap year, I feel like I''ve returned having experienced a world I could never have imagined. I realized there is no single correct answer to life, and that each person''s open-ended questions are different. Now, no matter what happens to me, I don''t get swept away by it—I can view it as the start of a new chapter.

    Yeo Hye-wonGapper''s Review

    # Hello! I decided to go to Malta to learn English and to live in a new environment.

    Hello! :) I''m Yeo Hye-won, a 23-year-old university student.

I know grammar to some extent, but I''m a bit awkward in real conversations, so I needed an environment where I could practice.

Also,I had a growing desire to break away from the repetitive daily routine, so I decided to join this program!

    * For Yeo Hye-won, who needed a new challenge, a positive environment and a fresh, different challenge were necessary in her current daily life.To support Yeo Hye-won''s change, we recommended a project through consulting :) If you want a tailored plan for where and how to start making changes, we highly recommend 1:1 consulting with a gap year specialist!

    # I wanted time to reflect on ''myself''.

I chose Malta to improve my English conversational skills, but I had goals beyond that.

I wanted to rest properly and explore ''myself''—to deeply understand how I act and feel in different situations and what I truly need.

    # By developing the habit of trying things on my own, I don''t feel helpless when problems arise.

The best part of attending the language school was that classes were divided according to each person''s level, and you could use the remaining time however you wanted. However, just as life doesn''t always go according to plan, not everything was always smooth.

When problems occurred at the school or the visa office, it was really difficult because there was no one to help me in my language, so I had to resolve things on my own.Explaining and resolving everything in English wasn''t as easy as I thought. But thanks to these experiences, I developed the habit of trying things by myself. Because of that habit, I no longer felt helpless when problems arose. Instead, I felt stronger!

    # People looked out for one another and showed warm affection regardless of race or age.

At the school, I met people of various races and ages, so I could learn about many different ways of life.

Everyone I met at the local school was wonderful: teachers who sincerely taught English, classmates who attended lessons with me, and roommates I lived with in the flat. There were many people who looked at each other as individuals and showed warm care regardless of race or age. Thanks to these lovely connections, my time in Malta became even richer and more special!

    # I realized there is no single correct answer to life, and that everyone''s subjective questions are different.

I feel like I returned after experiencing a world I could never have imagined after participating in a gap year.I realized there is no single right answer in life and that the open-ended questions given to each person are all different. Now, no matter what happens to me, I don''t let it sway me and can think of it as a new chapter beginning.

It was my first time going abroad alone, so at first it wasn''t as easy as I thought. It was six months of everything being new.My first trip abroad alone, my first foreign friends, six months apart from family, and even intense conversations in English for the first time. That made it an even more unforgettable experience.I''m in Korea now, but thatAll those moments are with me in my heart. I will always remember and reflect on those precious times!

    # Malta language study — here''s my daily routine!

School classes were divided into morning and afternoon; I attended morning classes for six months.

In the first two months I also took extra one-on-one classes, so I went to school at 8 every day and finished at 12:30.

After class I spent time alone or met up with friends and had a great time. Accumulating these various experiences made each day feel more special!

    # My tips for preparing a Malta language study gap year!

I prepared step by step using the documents sent by the gap year program and the school in Malta.Since you can easily get what you need there, I tried not to pack too much. Wanting to feel less burdened by packing, I prepared with a light heart thinking ''let''s pack only what we need!''It felt like leaving on a trip with a light heart!

I want to go back to Malta! If I go again, I would definitely recommend these spots.

I hope those of you about to take a Malta gap year refer to this and add them to your travel route!

Malta holds a wide variety of festivals! Strawberries in spring, wine, beer, and food festivals in summer, and more. If you see an ad in Valletta, be sure to go. Missing it would be a real shame!

Comino is too crowded in mid-summer, so I don''t recommend it. If you want to go, go early in the morning in early summer to enjoy it fully. On the other hand, Gozo can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace if you go on a weekend morning.

Malta''s coastline is mostly rocky, but if you like sandy beaches, I highly recommend Golden Bay or Riviera Beach! They''re about an hour by bus, so I often went after school in the evening with friends to watch the sunset. Truly beautiful scenery awaits! I hope you don''t miss this wonderful experience!

    Experience ★★★★★

: I had experiences I could never have in Korea.

    Learning ★★★★★

: I could learn not only English but also about life.

    Environment ★★★★★

: It''s an environment where you inevitably improve your English and can meet diverse people.

    Safety ★★★★

: As an East Asian woman, feeling uneasy was unavoidable, but if I went out with friends it was okay to go out at night.

    Leisure ★★★★★

: Because it''s an island and everywhere is the sea, there were many things to do: swimming, parasailing, etc. There were also frequent festivals, so it was great for making memories with friends.
