# Hello! I''m in my 20s and I studied in the Philippines before starting my career.
Hello, I''m a person in my 20s.I wanted to take on the challenge of staying abroad for an extended time before employment, so I turned to Korea Gap Year.Through gap year consulting, I had many conversations with a consultant and received several program recommendations. I also wanted to make sure to secure the language scores needed for job preparation, so considering that I ultimately decided on an English program in Cebu, Philippines!

# Expressing my positive, lively self. It''s much easier now.

I have an outgoing personality, but I wasn''t very open. That was something I found difficult. I wanted to come out of the version of myself that felt trapped, and try being a slightly more positive person. Now that I''m back, I definitely think I''ve changed.
# I came back having made countless memories with many different people.

The best part was becoming close with countless people from many different countries, as well as Korean friends. I made many precious connections I still keep in touch with after returning to Korea. Friends I went out with on weekends or traveled with, and even teachers I became close to by eating together outside of class — I was so happy to have such great experiences! When I returned to Korea, it felt like a dream for a moment; it left me with really wonderful memories.
Besides that, I was glad that my English skills improved greatly. By making many friends, an environment where I could always use English in daily life was naturally created.I was able to learn about the cultures of the countries my friends came from, and at the same time I introduced a lot of Korean culture.Through the monthly exams, I could intuitively tell that my English skills had improved.
# I can express my true self much more naturally.
Participating in the program definitely made me better at expressing myself to others. Looking back on participating in the program, I found myself approaching friends in English, striking up conversations and joking around. Before, approaching people and talking to them was a bit difficult, but now it''s much easier.
AndSince it was my first time staying abroad for a long period to study and meet many foreign friends, at some point I developed confidence that I could do it and felt motivated.
Perhaps,More people than you might think haven''t stayed abroad for a long time like I did. So they will probably be very nervous and worried before departing. However,Because Korea Gap Year listens closely to what I say, I think the whole program is safe enough to join. I''m sure you''ll have many great experiences and come back with good foreign friends.
# Cebu, Philippines language study — here''s my daily routine!

I woke up at 7 AM, ate, and got ready to go to class. Classes started at 8 and were run as 45-minute lessons with 5-minute breaks. Coming from Korea to the Philippines and suddenly using a lot more English, I focused on adapting during the first week. hehe

Classes ended at 5:10 PM, and after that I had free time until before 10 PM. During that time I often went out with friends and made memories!
# My personal tips for preparing for a Cebu, Philippines language study gap year!

It was my first time staying abroad for a long period, so I was very nervous before my first departure. But it didn''t take long to realize those worries were unnecessary. In particular, the packing guide sent by Korea Gap Year was very helpful, and I also searched the internet myself to pack essential items and other necessities for overseas.
(Language)
Since it''s a place to learn English, bringing a personal book like a simple grammar book would be useful during self-study time!
(Accommodation)
The air conditioner is always on so it was surprisingly cold. It''s good to bring at least one jacket to protect against the AC breeze.
(Meals)
The food has a strong fusion Korean feel. If you''re not picky, you''ll be able to eat it without problems.
(Packing)
I was inconvenienced because I didn''t bring a hairdryer, but my hair dried quickly because of the AC breeze.
# My Cebu, Philippines language study gap year is!
Experience ★★★★★
: An environment where you can use English naturally develops. The school has a low percentage of Koreans, so you can make a lot of international friends!
Learning ★★★★
: After taking a test at enrollment, students are divided into classes by level, so it wasn''t hard to follow the lessons.
Environment ★★★★
: The living conditions are fine. However, compared to Korea, the Philippines as a country seems to embrace a slower pace, so it can feel a bit frustrating at times.
