Thailand, Bangkok
Bangkok is a captivating city with towering skyscrapers reaching up to 85 floors, alongside centuries-old temples and palaces. It is known as a paradise for backpackers. Thailand is recognized as one of the Asian countries that have successfully globalized its cuisine, alongside China and Japan. The subtropical climate and fertile land produce a variety of ingredients such as tropical fruits, seafood, and grains, which have contributed to the development of its rich culinary culture. The hallmark of Thai cuisine is its ability to offer a balance of all five tastes: sweet, sour, spicy, bitter, and salty. Experience the essence of Thai food in the charming city of Bangkok!
■ Travel Destination Introduction
1. Wat Pho
Wat Pho, located south of the Grand Palace, is one of the oldest temples in Bangkok with a history of 200 years. The main attraction is the massive Reclining Buddha statue, measuring 46 meters long and 15 meters high. It depicts the Buddha on the brink of Nirvana, with intricately decorated mother-of-pearl soles symbolizing the universe. Wat Pho also houses Bangkok's most famous massage school and was once a center of Thai education. Enjoy a refreshing massage at Wat Pho, where Thailand's first university was established.
2. Grand Palace
This is Bangkok's largest tourist attraction and represents the history of the Thai monarchy. The opulent Golden Palace shows how revered the king is by the Thai people. It's best to visit in the relatively quiet morning due to the heat and crowds, and remember that shorts, skirts, sleeveless tops, and flip-flops without straps are not allowed. Known as the Emerald Temple, this palace, managed directly by the Thai king, is where monks from around the world gather for important national ceremonies. Experience the height of splendor in this palace adorned with vast amounts of gold and jewels!
3. Khao San Road
Khao San Road is a 300-meter street located in the Banglamphu area. It's a gathering spot for backpackers from around the world arriving in Bangkok, with various affordable guesthouses and travel agencies. Not only does it attract backpackers from all over the world, but also young Thais, creating a vibrant cultural scene.
