Location Overview

Region:Goa City, India

Goa City is a coastal city on India’s west coast where traces of 450 years of Portuguese colonial rule remain, giving it an atmosphere somewhat different from the India people usually imagine. Every year many foreign tourists visit Goa City’s beaches for vacations. Enjoy a variety of fresh, inexpensive foods, lively night markets, clubs that stay open all night, and various festivals—Goa City is full of attractions to enjoy to the fullest!

Recommended destinations

01 Anjuna Beach

Anjuna Beach is a famous beach in Goa City with soft sandy shores, clear waters, delicious food, and a variety of water sports. While it’s great to play in the water, simply sitting and gazing at the sea can be deeply relaxing. Visit the Anjuna flea market held every Wednesday near the beach to shop for a wide range of goods and souvenirs.

02 Hot air balloon experience

Enjoy the activities available in Goa City, such as paragliding and scuba diving. Hot air ballooning is another option—ride a giant balloon and admire the beautiful panorama of Goa City from the sky. Drifting slowly on the wind while taking in the scenery will become an unforgettable memory. Experience a moment above Goa City that you’ll remember for a lifetime!

03 Fontainhas

Fontainhas is the Latin Quarter located in Panaji, the capital of Goa. The alleys lined with Portuguese-era houses can make you feel like you’re in Europe rather than India. Walk among the colorful buildings and capture great photos! As you stroll and enjoy the beautiful scenery, you’ll sense the traces of centuries of history. You’ll also find many traditional Goan restaurants serving local Indian cuisine, allowing you to enjoy a different side of India in an exotic atmosphere.
