    Program Introduction

    Project Introduction

Living in Gurye, Jeollanam-do, you'll plan and implement eco-friendly content utilizing local ecological resources.

Experience and express the diverse charms of Jirisan Mountain and Seomjingang River through your own content with other people.

Through this, you can spread a deep appreciation and love for nature.

By creating content with your own hands, you can contribute to fostering a sustainable ecosystem where humans and nature coexist and support local regeneration and circulation.

The reasons why this project is great

    • You can learn while having fun

: Experience various contents in Gurye firsthand, such as playgrounds using trees in Jirisan Forest and observing the Seomjingang River ecosystem while kayaking. Through these experiences, you learn how nature and people can coexist.

    • You can recover physically and mentally while staying

: The landscape of Jirisan Forest surrounding Gurye induces a calm and relaxed state of mind. The phytoncides and negative ions from the forest help eliminate harmful substances from your body and reduce stress.

    • Beautiful sunsets and a sky full of stars are a bonus:

: After work, take a leisurely walk along the Seomjingang River and enjoy the beautiful sunset. On clear nights, you can even observe the stars embroidered in the night sky from Nogodan.

    Location Overview

    Location Introduction

ㅣ Location : SOUTH KOREA, Gurye

    1. Jirisan National Park (Nogodan Peak Section)

: Known as the Alps of Korea, Jirisan is renowned as one of the three main peaks alongside Cheonwangbong and Banyabong. Among them, Nogodan offers stunning views of the Seomjin River landscape from its summit, along with spring azaleas, summer hemerocallis, autumn foliage, and winter snowscapes that change with the seasons. Recently, a tourist road connecting to Seongsamjae has opened, making it much easier to visit than before.

    2. Hwaeomsa Temple

: Founded in the 22nd year of King Seong of Baekje, Hwaeomsa Temple in Gurye is a thousand-year-old sacred site of the Hwaeom sect. Known as a treasure trove of cultural heritage, it boasts numerous national treasures and treasures, complemented by stunning landscapes. With over ten national treasures and treasures, it is also called as the treasure chest of Jirisan. In addition to its impressive sights, the temple offers hidden stories that add another layer of intrigue.

    3. Gurye Cheoneunsa Temple

: Below the path leading to Nogodan Peak in Jirisan Mountain, Cheonunsa is situated among the three major temples of Jirisan Mountain, alongside Hwaeomsa and Ssanggyesa. Founded by Master Doseon in the 3rd year of King Heungdeok of Silla (828 AD), it was initially named Gamrosa due to the clear and cold springs within the temple grounds, described as refreshing as morning dew. It is said that drinking this water would "clear the mind," and at one time, more than 1,000 monks resided here. Cheonunsa's Suhoongru Pavilion is also known as a filming location for the drama "Mr. Sunshine." The pavilion, a Paljagjibung (octagonal pavilion) where characters Go Ae-shin (played by Kim Tae-ri) and Kim Hee-sung (played by Byun Yo-han) bid their final farewell standing, boasts the finest scenery at Cheonunsa.

    4. Seomjingang Bamboo Forest Trail

: The Bamboo Forest Path along the Seomjingang River is a representative travel course in Gurye. Formed along the banks of the Seomjingang River, the bamboo forest is perfect for strolls. Throughout the walking path, there are resting areas, and the rustling sound of bamboo leaves in the wind brings a healing sensation to both body and mind.

    5. Ssangsanjae Hanok Pension

: Ssangsanjae, a traditional Korean house (hanok), embodies the subtle elegance of a nobleman's residence and the warm embrace reminiscent of a grandmother's home. The current owner's sixth-generation grandfather built Seodangchae(study building) and named it "Ssangsanjae" after his pen name. It gained popularity through Yoon Stay for introducing the romance of hanok. Beyond the residential area, the lush large forest and reservoir further enhance the charm of Ssangsanjae.
