Founded in 1962, this organization is a global travel services company headquartered in Switzerland, offering more than 290 multinational travel programs across 47 countries worldwideThese travel programs have an age limit (18-35), which creates the passionate and lively atmosphere typical of young travelers. To build a genuine travel culture for young people from around the world — Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, major European countries, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and others — the company has steadily worked and developed over the past 50 years.
In 1961, a young New Zealander named John Anderson went to London to travel around Europe. With little money at the time, he thought it would be better to travel with others rather than alone, so he rented a minibus and began gathering people to travel with him. (This was in the days before social media!) Together with the young travelers he gathered, he completed a 12-week trip around Europe and had an amazing time. Unable to forget that feeling, John Anderson planned another trip to Europe, this time organizing two teams to travel together. In this way, John Anderson discovered the business of bus tours through his European travels and went on to establish a worldwide travel company. Today it has become the world’s largest travel company, creating a travel culture for young travelers.
