Program Creator / Look.
Here, both the people receiving support and the volunteers are treated with genuine respect and care. Local coordinators stay by the side of volunteers who are not familiar with the language and carefully support them in their activities and daily life. This helps you feel safe and know you are not alone, even in a new country, so you can focus on your work. If this is your first time volunteering abroad or you feel nervous about being in a new place, we recommend trying this special experience in Da Nang. Warm, thoughtful staff will support you as you share meaningful learning and experiences with children.

Program Introduction

Program image 3
Program image 4

This is an education volunteer project where you become a teacher for children in Da Nang, Vietnam.Volunteers use activities they are good at or enjoy, such as English, art, health, or other subjects, to create fun learning experiences for the children. Safe housing and a comfortable living environment help even first-time volunteers adjust easily. Share love and learning with the children, then enjoy Da Nang’s relaxed way of life during your free time. Make special memories that bring volunteering and travel together.

1. Feel at home in a place where volunteers are treated with respect.
This project puts volunteers first. For volunteer work to go well, volunteers need to feel safe and comfortable. We believe that volunteers can share more positive energy and warmth with the children when they feel respected and cared for, even in the unfamiliar setting of Vietnam.Volunteers stay in clean housing set aside for them and get support from local staff with meals, travel to activity sites, and cultural activities. Since volunteers from many countries live together, you can easily make friends and share your cultures. Start your volunteer experience abroad in a clean, comfortable place and meet people from around the world.

2. Enjoy your own special time in relaxed Da Nang.
During the day, spend time with the children and prepare activities, filling your days with love and laughter. After activities, take your time exploring Da Nang’s beaches, small streets, markets, and cafés. On weekends, you can swim at My Khe Beach with fellow volunteers or travel to nearby places such as Hoi An and Hue. Unlike a trip where you rush from one famous sight to another, this project lets you experience local life and culture in Vietnam up close. Build meaningful bonds with the children during the week, then enjoy the sea and city in your free time. Experience everyday life in Da Nang at your own pace. It will be a special experience where you can feel the joy of helping someone and enjoy a relaxing holiday at the same time.

3. Grow by thinking, creating, and expressing yourself.
To make a good lesson, you need to think about what the children enjoy and how to explain hard ideas in simple ways. If an activity does not go as planned, you need to find a new approach. You may also need to change the lesson based on how the children respond. Through this process, volunteers naturally build responsibility, problem-solving, and communication skills. They also learn through helping children grow that their own knowledge and interests can be useful to someone else.At first, it may feel awkward to express yourself in front of others. But as you teach the children each day, you will find it easier to share your thoughts and feelings. As you help the children learn, you will also grow into a stronger and kinder person.

4. Learn a new way to begin sharing love.
Even when people want to care for someone, they may not know how to begin. Here, you can show how you feel through small actions instead of big words: make eye contact with the children, explain things patiently, and laugh together. Sometimes listening to a child matters more than the lesson you prepared. By giving children time to try again when things are difficult, and by truly celebrating even small changes, you will learn how to support and care for someone without expecting anything in return. The children’s smiles and warm greetings will help you see that you can matter to someone. You may also begin to look at things you once took for granted in a new way. Take the chance to spend time wholeheartedly supporting and caring for someone at least once in your life.

■ Region: Da Nang, Vietnam

Da Nang, in central Vietnam, is a city where beautiful beaches, a modern city, and cultural sites with a long history come together. Its warm weather all year, clean beaches, and wide range of food have made it a popular vacation spot for travelers from around the world.

■ Recommended Places to Visit

1. My Khe Beach

This is Da Nang’s best-known beach, with clear water and a long stretch of white sand. It became even more famous after Forbes, a U.S. business magazine, named it one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. It is a favorite place to relax for both local people and visitors. Take a walk along the shore or end your day with a cool sea breeze. You can also swim, surf, or relax at a beach café.

2. Hoi An Old Town

About a 40-minute drive from Da Nang, Hoi An is a beautiful town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening, thousands of lanterns light up the streets and create a lovely scene. It is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Da Nang.

3. Ba Na Hills

About 1,400 meters above sea level, Ba Na Hills is one of Da Nang’s most popular attractions. The world-famous Golden Bridge is known for its unique design, with two giant hands holding it up. Ride one of the world’s longest cable cars to the mountain top and enjoy the cool air and beautiful views.

Walking along streets lined with yellow buildings and colorful lanterns feels like traveling back in time. The lanes are filled with traditional cafés, craft shops, and great places to eat.

You can also see European-style buildings, visit a theme park, and enjoy shows and other activities. It is one of the best day trips from Da Nang.
