This is a one-month living project where you experience daily life in an island village by the beautiful sea of Wonsando Island, Chungnam-do. Rather than rushing between tourist spots like a typical trip, you'll walk slowly, gaze at the sea, greet the villagers, and spend your days fully immersed in nature. Rediscover the ease of life and the warmth of people that you may have forgotten living in the city. Your time on Wonsando Island won't be a simple trip — it will be a special time to rediscover your own pace of life.
1. Live a day where it’s ok to do nothing
We tend to live each day feeling we must always be doing something — even on days off, wondering where to go or what to do to make the day meaningful. But on Wonsando Island, it's okay to set that mindset aside for a while. Time spent gazing blankly at the sea, walking slowly along the beach, or passing the day with no plans at all becomes a cherished memory here. In the morning, have a cup of coffee while looking out at the sea; in the afternoon, stroll the beach or read a book; and in the evening, wrap up the day watching a beautiful sunset. Time spent slowly emptying out, rather than busily filling up your day, will restore your tired body and mind and help you reconsider what you truly need.
2. Become a village neighbour, not a tourist
Here, even strangers are welcomed with the warmth of old neighbors. By talking with villagers, sharing meals, or lending a small hand, you'll naturally become part of daily island life. People greet you first when you cross paths on the street, and share vegetables they've grown or seafood they've caught, always wanting to give you one more thing. Your time on Wonsando Island won't be a fleeting trip, but a time to feel warmth between people and build another hometown for yourself.
3. Start a new hobby alongside a digital detox
Step away for a while from a life surrounded by smartphones and computers. On Wonsando Island, you may find yourself spending more time gazing at the sea than checking your phone. It's also a great environment to start hobbies you've long wanted to try — reading, drawing, photography, or writing. The quiet sea and the relaxed rhythm of island life will naturally spark new inspiration and creativity. As you spend your days this way, you'll gradually rediscover your own rhythm of life and start listening to yourself about what you truly enjoy and what kind of life you want to live. Your time on Wonsan Island will be more than just building a new hobby — it will be precious time to slowly reflect on yourself and reimagine your life ahead
4. Live and enjoy the island scenery that changes a little every day
The sea at Wonsando Island greets you with a new view several times a day. Depending on the tide, wide mudflats are sometimes revealed, and at other times the seawater fills the shore completely, showing an entirely different look. In the morning, sunlight sparkles over a calm sea; in the evening, a crimson sunset paints the island and sea like a single painting. Wildflowers blooming with the seasons, the cool sea breeze, the sound of waves, and the cry of seagulls — the scenery nature creates here grows deeper the longer you stay. Come experience, up close, the slow passage of seasons and time that's hard to feel in the city.

This is a project where you stay in Wonsando Island, Boryeong, and experience daily island life. Amid beautiful nature, you'll rediscover your own pace of life, stroll along the sea, read books, start new hobbies, and enjoy a relaxed pace of time. You'll also naturally mingle with villagers, experience Wonsando Island's warm community culture, and discover the joy of 'living' rather than merely traveling.
■ Key Activities
1) Walking through the island village and enjoying beautiful nature :
Meet Wonsando Island's beautiful nature along walkable beaches and coastal trails. Watch the sea view and sunset change moment to moment with the tides, take in the wide mudflats, and observe nature shifting with the seasons up close — a relaxed kind of time that's hard to find in the city.
2) Connecting with the island village people :
Talk with villagers and share in daily island life, spending time as a neighbor rather than a tourist. Sometimes you'll share meals or lend a small hand, and depending on the season, you can join in night time tide-pool foraging, fishing, or village events, naturally experiencing Wonsando Island's warm hospitality and community culture.
3) Digital detox and stating new hobbies :
Step away from smartphones and computers for a while and start hobbies you've wanted to try, such as reading, writing, drawing, photography, or exercise. 4) Free travel around Boryeong and Wonsando Island :
While staying on Wonsando Island and enjoying its relaxed daily life, you can also quickly reach Daecheon Beach and downtown Boryeong by road. Along with the rest of a quiet island village, freely enjoy Boryeong's many attractions — cafes, restaurants, tourist spots — for an even richer month of living there.

This is a village community built together by people who have long made their living from the sea in a fishing village. Villagers carry on their daily fishing-village life together through fishing, managing fishing grounds, and mudflat work. In this project, rather than simply having an experience, you'll live and work alongside residents and get to know, up close, the stories of people who live by fishing and farming. Through the sweat of helping with farm work or tending the mudflats, feel the warm spirit of a fishing community that respects nature and helps one another. Rather than as a tourist, stay as a village neighbor for an experience that brings you closest to the sea and its people.

During your stay, we offer a pension-style space near the sea within the village so you can stay close to the villagers.
The accommodation is equipped with amenities such as a TV, refrigerator, and kitchenware, and if you'd prefer a different type of accommodation, please inquire separately.
*This is a local guesthouse/pension-style accommodation, and the actual appearance may differ from the images.

■ Location: Boryeong
Boryeong, in South Chungcheong Province, is one of Korea's leading coastal cities, where the beautiful West Sea, islands large and small, wide mudflats, and green mountains come together in harmony. Home to the world-famous Boryeong Mud Festival, it's a popular destination year-round for its blend of marine leisure activities and fishing-village culture. With the recent opening of the Boryeong Undersea Tunnel and the Wonsan-Anmyeon Bridge, access to the islands has become even more convenient, making it easier to experience the beautiful nature of the West Sea and everyday fishing-village life. In Boryeong, where urban convenience coexists with rural ease, sweeping sea views, warm people, and a way of life shaped by the rhythms of nature come together to offer a special experience hard to find elsewhere.
1. Wonsando Island
With its beautiful beaches, vast mudflats, and charming fishing village, Wonsando is a leading island of the West Sea. Since the opening of the Boryeong Undersea Tunnel improved access, it has drawn attention as a new travel destination, where you can experience the relaxed daily life of an island village amid small harbors, coastal paths, and beautiful sunsets. Enjoy the many charms of a West Sea fishing village all in one place — from fishing and mudflat experiences to fresh seafood.
2. Daecheon Beach
This is one of Korea's leading beaches, famous for its wide, soft sand and beautiful sunsets. Every summer, it hosts the world-famous Boryeong Mud Festival, drawing large crowds who come to enjoy both the beach and a variety of marine leisure activities. With well-developed walking paths, cafes, and restaurants along the shore, you can enjoy the relaxed scenery and charm of the West Sea any time of year.
3. Seongjusan Recreational Forest
Seongjusan Recreational Forest is one of Boryeong's leading healing spots, combining a lush forest with clear valley streams. Popular with families and trekking enthusiasts alike, it offers walking trails lined with cypress trees where you can enjoy the fresh scent of the forest and the ease of nature.
