This is an artist stay project in Gangjin where you can create your own artwork and directly experience everything from exhibition to sale. You can take on creative challenges that showcase your own strengths and personality — whether in art, craft, or goods design — while encountering the local scenery and people and discovering fresh inspiration and ideas. In this time immersed in creation, step away from your familiar routine and deepen your own artistic world. Beyond the joy of making, you'll also get to share your work with others and exchange value through it. Come experience a special time where the relaxed scenery of Gangjin, the excitement of creating, and new challenges all come together.
1. Experience your artwork going beyond creation—all the way to exhibition and sale.
Many artists are used to the process of making work, but find it difficult to present and sell it to others. This project doesn't stop at simply producing artwork — you'll also get to plan and run your own exhibition and sell your pieces. Using a curated shop space located in Gangjin, you can introduce your own work, meet people, and see their genuine reactions firsthand. The moment someone stops in front of your piece and shows interest, and the moment your work finds its way into the daily life of someone who recognizes its value, become experiences that stay with a creator for a long time. Come experience not only the joy of creating, but also the process of your work connecting with the world — a special time to grow as an artist.
2. Meet a variety of artists and experience the moments when inspiration flows between you.
A good piece of work is sometimes completed more richly through encounters with people rather than solitary deliberation. In this project, you'll naturally network with a range of local creators — craftspeople, musicians, designers, writers, farmers, and more — gaining new perspectives and inspiration. There's also a shared space where you can immerse yourself in your work and exchange ideas, creating a good environment for sharing experiences and collaborating. Using Gangjin's resources — its ceramics, tea, flowers, agricultural products, and more — as creative materials, try planning and producing new work you've never attempted before. Meeting people and gaining experience in Gangjin, at the southern tip of Korea, becomes a chance to move beyond your familiar creative frame and into a broader world of work. In this place where people, region, and art meet, discover your own new creative possibilities.
3. In laid-back Gangjin, focus entirely on yourself and immerse yourself in creating.
Life in the city is always busy and fast-paced. Chasing one task after another, it’s easy to lose even a moment of creative ease. But good work can be achieved by stopping for a moment, looking around and focusing on yourself. Gangjin’s quiet scenery and relaxed daily rhythm create a good environment for focusing on creative work. On days when things aren’t going as planned, take a slow walk through the village alleys, enjoy a cup of warm tea at a cafe, or talk with new people — you may discover unexpected inspiration and ideas. Time here isn’t simply rest; it’s a process of stepping away from your busy routine, reflecting on yourself, and recharging tired senses and creative energy. In Gangjin, with its warm breeze and relaxed scenery, experience a special time that could mark the beginning of a new piece of work.
4. Experience a new kind of art activity where diverse cultures and the local region grow together.
Art doesn’t end with simply making something. It gains deeper resonance and meaning when you connect with local people, understand their lives, stories, culture, and weave the region’s resources and unique character into your work. Through work like reinterpreting traditional materials in a new way — such as a whiskey glass made from celadon — expanding local scenery and sensibility into everyday objects, like goods inspired by Gangjin's nature — or shaping local ingredients into a single story, like a beer made with local farm products — you can express Gangjin's own narrative in various forms. Creation here goes beyond simple production; it’s a process of building a new brand and content that connects region, art, people, and story. The experience gained during this time can expand your own creative world while also becoming a meaningful step toward completing work and a brand infused with your own color and philosophy.

■ Project Activities
This is an artist-stay program in Gangjin where you plan and produce your own artwork firsthand, experiencing everything from exhibition to sale. Participants design and complete their own creative project based on their own interests and talents. You're free to pursue creative work across genres without boundaries — art, craft, product design, illustration, photography, lifestyle branding, and more. Finished pieces are exhibited and actually sold at a youth-run curated shop in downtown Gangjin, letting you directly experience how your work meets people and gets a reaction. Turning your own story into artwork in a place like Gangjin, and having it reach a real market and real people, becomes a special experience that reveals new possibilities and depth in your creative practice.

1. Planning and Producing Your Own Work :
You will plan and produce a piece of work based on your interests and strengths. Feel free to create anything from painting to crafts to custom-made goods — whatever reflects your own creative voice.
2. Researching and Utilizing Local Resources :
You'll make use of Gangjin's diverse local resources — its nature, culture, people, agricultural products, celadon, and tea culture — weaving the region's stories into your work and developing new creative ideas.
3. Networking with local Creators and Artists :
You’ll network with a variety of local people, including potters, designers, craftsmen, farmers, and cultural planners. Sharing each other’s working methods and collaborating can spark new inspiration.
4. Using Creative Spaces and Shared Spaces:
During the project, you're free to use both the work space and shared spaces. Beyond just producing your work, you'll also hold meetings, network, and join creative gatherings, interacting with a variety of people.
5. Exhibiting, Selling, and Building a Brand Around Your Work:
Your finished work can be exhibited and sold at a curated shop space in Gangjin. You'll experience the real sales process — setting prices, arranging your product lineup, styling the exhibition, and serving customers. Beyond simple creative activity, you'll experience the process of developing your own work into a brand.

This is a community that connects the people, resources, and spaces of the Gangjin region, building a foundation where young people can learn and grow together. Through various projects — a youth village initiative, operating a youth-run curated shop, local festivals, community operations, startup support, and more — it creates new momentum and energy within the region. In this process, local residents, young people, and entrepreneurs naturally meet and connect, sharing ideas and everyday experiences. Within it, relationships form where people cheer each other on and grow together. For those looking to start a new life and make a change in Gangjin, this is more than just a space — it's a steady companion and guide to help you think through and find your direction in life.
We arrange shared accommodation or a guesthouse so you can stay comfortably during the program. Basic living facilities are provided for your convenience.

Gangjin is a place where beautiful nature and diverse culture come together. Away from the busy city, you can live at a relaxed pace, naturally interact with local residents, and experience the region's way of life and deep culture. It’s also a place where celadon culture and tea culture have flourished, offering everyday cultural experiences amid various arts and culture spaces and beautiful natural scenery.
1. Gangjin Bay Ecological Park
This is a well-known destination famous for its wide reed fields and beautiful wetland scenery. You can enjoy nature's changing scenery through the seasons, and take a relaxing walk along the trails. Especially at sunset, the sky turning red leaves visitors with lasting memories.
2. Goryeo Celadon Museum
The Goryeo Celadon Museum is a space where you can explore the thousand-year history and production process of Goryeo celadon. Through various exhibitions and hands-on programs, you can experience the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and naturally understand the meaning of work infused with a craftsman's spirit. Exhibits and artifacts also let you appreciate the excellence and artistic value of Goryeo celadon on a deeper level.
3. Baekundong Garden
This beautiful garden, representative of traditional Korean garden culture, is notable for its natural blend of valley, forest, and pond. You can take a quiet walk and feel nature up close, experiencing a calm that's hard to find in the busy city. It's a healing space where you can rest your tired body and mind.
