If you practice listening to others and empathizing, your perspective for understanding people will broaden. Practice an open attitude that accepts people who are different from you as they are. By learning how to understand others and build relationships, communication and trust develop. You can turn conflicts into learning opportunities, increasing your ability to solve problems. By learning how to meet new people, you realize that opening your heart is easier than you thought. By forming relationships with a variety of people who suit you, you gain confidence and maturity. Your view of the world widens and you can understand people more flexibly. Your ability to empathize with and understand others' perspectives is strengthened. You discover the value of "together" rather than being alone, and your heart expands further. By examining your own values, goals, strengths, and weaknesses, you come to understand human relationships more deeply. The quality of your relationships improves, and you find yourself wanting to live a fuller, warmer life.

A gap year is self-understanding and interpersonal growthand is used as an important turning point. Forming relationships with people in a new environment and the process of understanding oneself more deeply personal growth and future social successcan have a positive impact. According to research, self-understanding and interpersonal skills to improve mental health and emotional stability and successful relationships play an important role in building. Harvard UniversityA 75-year study at Harvard concluded, "The quality of relationships is the single most important predictor of happiness and success." In other words, finding meaning in relationships with others and the better you understand yourself the more you can live a happier, fuller life. Through missions, you will come to know your own mind and learn and grow in relationships with othersThrough these experiences, by the end of the gap year you will be more mature and confident.

1. Take time for self-understanding.

A gap year is a great opportunity to reflect on your life and goals.Alone timeTake some alone time to examine your values, goals, strengths, and weaknesses.The process of getting to know yourselfhelps you better understand your potential for growth. The deeper your self-understanding becomes, the moreunderstanding and empathyyou will be able to show.

2. Learning from relationships with others

In relationships with others, what matters iscommunicationandlistening.Activelyis the key to improving the quality of relationships, respecting others, and building trust. Through interpersonal relationships, you will experience greatersatisfactionand experience,social supportand grow through the process of receiving it. During a gap year, by interacting with various people,your communication styleyou will have the opportunity to review and improve it.

3. Growing through relationships

The Gap Year growth mission “Relationship Growth” is a mission that helps you understand yourself and others and build easier, deeper relationships. By following the provided missions, you will discover a new side of yourself, come to understand diverse people, and realize that your perspective on the world has broadened.

These missions may require small acts of courage or things you haven't considered before, but I believe you will gain far more than the courage they require. As you carry out the missions, create your own gap year!

- Participants who want to keep a long-term record of their gap year

- This is a project that participants carry out themselves following the guide provided by Gap Year.

- Participants are personally responsible for mission execution and results. Korea Gap Year is not responsible.

- Missions are written with general tendencies in mind; if you find them too demanding or unsuitable, you are advised to skip them.

- This project is only available to participants who are actually taking part in an overseas Gap Year program.
