Learn Spanish in Chile, the heart of the Korean Wave in South America! 

South America, which is continuously growing, is a continent with immense future potential, and among them, Chile stands at the forefront of economic growth in Latin America. As one of Korea's top five trading partners and a center of the Korean Wave in South America, this project allows you to learn Spanish and experience the dynamic life of South America in Chile.

 

Study Spanish in South America!

Spanish is the second most widely spoken language in the world after Chinese, used by over 520 million people in more than 20 countries. It is spoken in most South American countries, and with the rising importance of the South American market, the popularity of Spanish is increasing. South America offers a more affordable option to learn Spanish compared to Spain! As seen in the increasing exchanges between South American countries, learning Spanish in South America can be a significant advantage.

 

 

 

 

PROGRAM ACTIVITIES

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

 

 

1. This project is conducted in Spanish.

- This project starts every Monday. On Mondays, a basic orientation is provided for new students.

  Enjoy Spanish-style pie, empanadas, and wine from Latin America!

- Each class lasts 45 minutes and is held on weekdays from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

* Some classes may be held in the afternoon depending on the level (from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM).

- Participants are placed in a class that suits their level after a test and are offered customized lessons from beginner to advanced courses.

  (The Spanish courses are divided into 8 levels.)

- Each class is held with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 students, creating an environment where students can actively participate in the lessons. 

 

  (On average, there are 4 students per class.)

 

  

English Proficiency Needed ☆☆☆☆

If you cannot speak Spanish, having some English skills can greatly help in participating in the project.

Since all classes are conducted in Spanish, having basic knowledge of the language will be very helpful for attending the classes.

 

2. Spanish classes are held in the morning, and various activities are organized in the afternoon.

- The institution organizes a free weekly trip with the students to visit famous places in Santiago.

- In addition to weekdays, activities are also available on weekends for students. (Additional costs may apply depending on the activity)

 

 Examples of afternoon activities

- Monday: Welcome party with snacks and wine

- Tuesday / Thursday: Learn salsa dance

- Wednesday: Free guided tour

- Friday: Language exchange and party with friends from different countries

* Specific schedules and activities are subject to change based on local conditions.

 

 Weekend Activities

You can participate in various activities based on your preferences. Explore Santiago during the weekend!

Take a trip to the beautiful port city of Valparaíso near Santiago, or join a famous winery tour in a nearby area.

You can also visit a national park.

 

 

 

 DELE Preparation Course

This Spanish language school is an officially recognized DELE exam center by the Spanish Cultural Center. Here, you can effectively prepare for the DELE exam through personalized tutoring.  

* The Spanish language exam is called DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) and is conducted three times a year under the auspices of the Spanish Cultural Center. The certificate obtained after taking the DELE exam serves as an official proof of one's Spanish language skills and is recognized by various institutions, including universities in Spain, which may offer benefits.

The apartment is located within walking distance from the project site, where you will stay with other foreign students learning Spanish. Individual rooms are provided, and the kitchen, living room, and washing machine are shared. Meals can be prepared individually using the kitchen in the apartment.

Chile is a leading economic power in Latin America, with an average GDP per capita nearing $20,000. The language school is located in Santiago, the capital of Chile. Santiago is a city that combines the relaxed charm of South America with the modern appeal of a large metropolis. It is also a great opportunity for those dreaming of becoming global talents due to its dynamic economic growth.

 

The language school is about an hour away from Santiago Airport by bus. Located on the opposite side of the world from Korea, the spring season is from September to November, and autumn weather is from February to April. Like our country, it has four seasons, preserving its beautiful natural environment.

 1. Santiago Cathedral

Santiago Cathedral is located on the west side of Plaza de Armas. It began construction in 1541 when Valdivia established Santiago and opened its doors in 1558. The cathedral has been rebuilt due to fires and earthquakes. Inside the cathedral, there are many religious artifacts and paintings. A magnificent cathedral that you cannot take in at a glance, Santiago Cathedral holds thousands of years of history. Visit this place yourself!

 

 

 

 

2. Pre-Columbian Art Museum

The Pre-Columbian Art Museum is a must-visit when you go to Santiago, Chile. It is a representative museum of Chile, exhibiting indigenous folk art. Especially famous is the statue of Agustin from Colombia, designated as a World Heritage. You can view cultures and artifacts from before the Inca civilization. Though small, it is a valuable museum that vividly conveys ancient Peruvian culture. Let's all go to the Pre-Columbian Art Museum!

 

 

 

 

 

3. Nueva York Street

A top travel destination in Santiago, Chile, is Nueva York Street. This street resembles Wall Street in New York and is home to the stock exchange and the social club Union, which has produced many Chilean presidents, housed in buildings of 1920s French Neoclassical style. Lined with antique buildings, Nueva York Street showcases the hidden economic power of Chile in South America. How about visiting this unique economic center of South America?

 Payment Plan Information

If you are unable to pay in full, make an initial payment of 500,000 won and pay the remaining balance within 2 weeks. The process to confirm participation will begin from the date of the initial payment, and we will check availability and spots. Quick application is important to secure your desired date and period!   (No refunds once confirmed) 

* However, if the start date is approaching, the schedule for the remaining payment may vary depending on the situation.

 

 Early Bird Discount and Emergency Application Information

We recommend applying at least 3 months before the project start date due to the normal procedures and preparation time. Applications should be submitted no later than 2 months before the start date. However, if urgent participation is required, you can use the emergency application service by paying an additional fee, and we will assist with the process as quickly as possible.

* While we aim to assist with the process as quickly as possible, communication with local institutions and time for confirmation may still be required. All procedures will be conducted similarly to general applicants, so those using the emergency application service must actively cooperate with the Korea Gap Year operation team.

** Those who apply more than 180 days before the start date can receive an Early Bird Discount.
