PROJECT INTRODUCTION
Join us in creating a sustainable fashion industry in Porto, Portugal!
This project involves working with an NGO in Porto to reproduce fabrics wasted in the fashion industry and upcycle discarded clothing, aiming to create a sustainable society through volunteer work. A unique opportunity awaits you that helps protect the environment while increasing employment opportunities for women.
If you've ever wondered what you can do after seeing photos and videos of huge piles of clothing waste and numerous news reports on the rapid deterioration of the planet, now is the time to head to Porto. Meet people who are actively making a difference on-site, and make a change with your own hands. Spending time with others who share the same dreams and goals will ignite your inner passion and become the driving force to challenge and create a better society. Experience the change leading the world in Porto, Portugal.
Q. Why is a circular fashion industry necessary? The rapidly changing fashion industry, driven by trends, causes significant environmental pollution globally. Issues such as greenhouse gas emissions, water wastage, and waste problems arise from fast fashion, where clothing is bought cheaply and discarded quickly. The amount of clothing waste is staggering, with approximately 2,000 or more items discarded every second. Experts predict that if the current fashion industry continues, severe resource depletion and environmental pollution issues will occur within the next 10 years. Reducing clothing consumption, using items for longer, recycling, and upcycling can significantly reduce waste. Our actions can certainly make a difference. |
The NGO running this project uses various upcycled fashion materials to create new clothing. Since new materials are used each time, volunteers can design and participate in the creation of new items regularly.
Unleash your creativity! If you are studying fashion or interested in the industry, your time in Porto, Portugal will be a special experience. Seize the opportunity to practice environmental protection while building your own career!
* A Note from the Planner If you are nurturing dreams of becoming a part of the fashion, beauty, or entertainment industries, challenge yourself with this project right now. Experience abroad is as valuable as academic qualifications in these fields, and spending time in Porto will give you new perspectives and experiences, helping you build a unique career path that stands out from the rest. |
