Systematic classes tailored to your level and goals are conducted for 4 hours a day, totaling 20 hours per week. You can participate actively in the morning classes and review what you’ve learned in the afternoon, making effective use of your time. Want more classes? A 30-hour per week course is also available, so you can choose the course that fits your goals.

This project is a language immersion program for learning French in Lyon, France. Start learning French with friends from around the world who come to Lyon each year from numerous countries!
The number of French speakers worldwide is increasing. French is the native language in about 30 countries, and the number of people who speak it as a second language adds even more to this impressive figure. Being able to speak French means connecting with a broader world, leading to personal achievements and professional success, and opening up more opportunities for you.

Our institution is primarily visited by students who have already learned the basics of French. For a smooth adaptation, either study basic French beforehand or link up with a gap year project to build up your basic French skills first! Build basic French skills and acquire some familiarity with French life by studying in famous French cities like Paris or Nice. Then, when you start your language study in Lyon, you will adapt more quickly and easily. Lyon is a city full of young and dynamic energy, with many students coming here to study. Student residences offer accommodation that satisfies personal autonomy and independence. Enjoy life in Lyon with friends from around the world who come to France! Located in the city center, you can conveniently use various amenities and live in an environment conducive to studying the language.
- Accommodation check-in and check-out are generally the day before the project starts (Sunday) and the day after the project ends (Saturday). (For home stays, check-in is after 5 PM on Sunday, and check-out is before 12 PM on Saturday. Additional charges apply outside these times. For residences, check-in is generally after 2 PM and check-out is before 11 AM. Lyon, France, is a vibrant and charming city. The old town of Lyon is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and it boasts special history and beautiful architecture. Moreover, Lyon is the perfect city to explore the corners of France. It is a gateway to the Alps, just two and a half hours by train to Paris, and only an hour away from Marseille and the Mediterranean. Enjoy your unique time in the wonderfully charming Lyon, France!
Recommended Places to Visit
1. Guignol Puppet Theatre
As you wander around Lyon, you'll find various forms of puppets. These aren't marionettes controlled by strings but finger puppets known as 'Guignol,' a Lyon specialty. Originally, Guignol referred to the name of a puppet character created in the 1800s, but now it refers to the finger puppets themselves. Many puppet shows are performed throughout Lyon, so pick a performance that interests you and enjoy! You'll feel like a child again.
2. Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière
There are two ways to reach the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, located at the top of Fourvière Hill: you can take the funicular or walk up. Either way, it's a wonderful way to enjoy the diverse charm of Lyon.
The basilica, perched on the hill, offers a view of Lyon and is one of the city's symbols and prides. The majestic exterior and the lavishly decorated interior with gold leaf, marble, and stained glass will surely amaze you. On clear days, you can even see the snow-capped Mont Blanc in the Alps from afar, so try to visit on a clear day.
3. Bouchon Lyonnais
In the city of gastronomy, Lyon, finding delicious food is a must. Although you can find tasty food in any restaurant, make sure to visit a Bouchon Lyonnais. A Bouchon Lyonnais isn't a specific restaurant but refers to a type of restaurant serving traditional Lyonnaise home cooking. There are numerous Bouchons Lyonnais in the city, so you don’t have to worry about which one to choose. True to its reputation as a city of gastronomy, you’ll find delicious food everywhere. Try a Lyon-style salad, famous worldwide, right at its origin!

If you are unable to pay the full amount, you can make a 500,000 KRW deposit and pay the remaining balance within 2 weeks. The process for confirming project participation will start based on the date of the deposit, and we will check availability and TO (placement). It is important to secure your spot as early as possible to participate on your desired date and duration! (Refunds are not available once participation is confirmed)
* Note that if the start date is approaching, the deadline for paying the remaining balance may change depending on the situation.
■ Early Bird Discount and Emergency Application Information
We recommend applying for all Gap Year projects at least 3 months before the project start date to allow for normal procedures and preparation time. Applications should be made no later than 2 months before the start date. However, if you have urgent reasons or need to participate quickly, you can opt for the emergency application service by paying an additional fee. We will assist with the expedited process as much as possible.
* Although we will assist with expedited procedures, there will still be basic time requirements for communication with local institutions and confirmation of participation. Emergency applicants must cooperate actively with the Korea Gap Year operations team, as all procedures will be conducted in the same manner as regular participants.
