PROGRAM LOCATION INTRODUCTION

LOCATION INTRODUCTION

Location:   Italy, Florence

Florence is one of the most artistically rich cities in Italy. The city bears traces of numerous artists and scientists who lived here, including Leonardo da Vinci, Dante, Michelangelo, and Galileo. It is often said by travelers that “the streets themselves are art,” as the entire city is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The local love for the city is unmatched by any other country.

Florence was the center of the Renaissance movement, and thanks to the Medici family, who were prominent patrons of the arts, the city is home to countless museums, sculptures, and artworks. Although Florence is not a large city, it is full of hidden treasures such as leather workshops, artisanal shops, and art galleries in its many narrow streets.

* Renaissance - A movement aimed at creating new culture through the revival of academic and artistic pursuits

Duomo Cathedral

The Duomo Cathedral plays a significant role as the meeting place for lovers who were separated for ten years in the famous Japanese novel “Between Coolness and Passion,” and it also serves as a movie backdrop. To preserve the cathedral, an elevator was not installed, so you will need to climb 500 stairs to reach the top.

However, once you reach the top with its dome-shaped roof, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Florence filled with red rooftops and no tall buildings. How about visiting this place with your loved one and promising your love?

Uffizi Gallery

The Uffizi Gallery is home to some of the world's greatest Renaissance paintings. The name "Uffizi" means "offices" in Italian, and it was originally the office of the Medici family who sponsored Florence's artists, but it was later donated and transformed into a museum.

Here, you can view works by genius artists such as Michelangelo and Raphael. The treasures of the Renaissance are hidden in the Uffizi Gallery! Don’t forget to visit the museum!

Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio is the only bridge in Florence that was not damaged during World War II and is famous as the bridge where the novelist Dante first met his beloved. It is also a bridge where lovers swear eternal love and attach love locks. As a place where artists once stayed, it exudes a sense of affection for lovers throughout the city.

Additionally, there are many jewelry shops near the bridge where you can’t miss the intricate craftsmanship of jewelers through the shop windows. How about selecting a ring for your loved one here? Gift a unique ring to your beloved and receive a happy smile in return.
