PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

PROJECT INTRODUCTION

1. Save up to 2,440,000 won and get the best chance to learn traditional British English at the lowest cost!

* To compare language school tuition, the listed price for Malta excludes the 12-week dormitory fee included in the package.

Gap year planners visit or meet with local language schools to introduce cost-effective options with good curriculums from various language schools in different countries. Malta, among these affordable language study projects, offers the lowest price! Since Malta, a former British colony, uses British English, it’s the best opportunity to learn traditional British English at a lower cost, especially for those who found London's high cost of living a burden.

2. Although it’s in Europe, the cost of living is cheaper than in South Korea! Plus, there’s a continuous decline in the exchange rate!!

* The price comparison is based on average figures and may vary depending on the study period and the purchase location.

Malta is famous for its affordable cost of living even within Europe! Usually, European countries are more expensive than South Korea, making European travel or language study a significant expense. It’s a reality that you might not be able to eat what you want, visit all the places you desire, and have to save diligently. However, Malta is not only inexpensive compared to other European countries but also has much lower costs for general groceries and transportation compared to South Korea. Additionally, Malta uses the Euro, and the Euro has been continuously depreciating over the past year, so you can enjoy eating and doing everything you want without financial stress while studying English in Europe.

3. A place where you can enjoy both European and African travel!

Is staying on an island boring after a while? Absolutely not! Malta is an island in the Mediterranean between Europe and Africa, making it a strategic location historically for both continents. While receiving English training in Malta, take advantage of its geographical benefits to enjoy European and African travel, which may have seemed distant before. Using the English you’ve learned, make new travel friends and enrich both your language skills and local experiences!

4. A popular vacation spot among Europeans! Filled with various festivals and activities!

While Malta may still be unfamiliar in South Korea, it is already regarded as a top vacation destination among Europeans. Every year, numerous festivals such as carnival, Christmas, fireworks, and jazz festivals are held. Various water sports like scuba diving, diving, and flyboarding are also available at affordable prices. Even if you don’t do anything, just gazing at the clear emerald sea is a healing experience! With over 2.6 million tags for #Malta on Instagram, every photo is stunning and will make you want to go to Malta immediately! :) Meet friends from around the world at the language school, study English during the week, and enjoy various festivals on weekends to blow off steam!

INSTITUTION INTRODUCTION

This language school is located in the heart of Valletta, the capital of Malta, and has over 10 years of history. All teachers hold English teaching certificates issued by Cambridge, and the school is officially certified by IALC*. The school operates various curricula to enhance students' English skills. With a maximum of 9 students per class, the school strives to create an environment where students can use English as much as possible both in and outside the classroom. Since the percentage of Korean students is low, you can significantly increase your English usage while spending your gap year here.

*IALC (International Association of Language Centres): Established in 1983, IALC is an international language school accreditation body. It regularly verifies overall matters such as the quality of teaching, services, student management, and facilities according to strict standards. Only schools that pass the rigorous certification criteria are recognized as member schools. As of 2015, only 118 schools in 21 countries worldwide are registered as IALC member schools.

ACCOMMODATION INTRODUCTION

  Student Dormitory

This project includes student dormitories (shared rooms). The student dormitories are apartment-style dormitories. They come with shared kitchens, laundry rooms, and other facilities for independent living. The dormitories are cleaned once a week, and Wi-Fi is available in the common areas. The school also takes great care in managing the apartments. The student dormitories are popular as they offer the chance to live with international friends made at the language school and have a great time.

* The cost of the student dormitory includes round-trip airport pickup.

* Check-in/check-out days for accommodation are available on Saturday/Sunday.

* The dormitories are apartment-style with cooking facilities; meals are not included.

* Dormitory rooms are shared with students of the same gender, and flats are shared with students of various nationalities and genders.

* If you wish to use a single room in the dormitory, please inquire separately (koreagapyear@gmail.com).

* During the summer peak season (June 23 to September 1, 2024), a peak season fee will apply. For more details, please contact Korea Gap Year for guidance and consultation.

* Although the dormitories are apartment-style, in Malta, unlike in Korea, there are not uniformly tall apartment buildings. Instead, there are various low-rise apartments. Therefore, the apartment style and allocation may vary for each participant, and accommodation is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend applying as early as possible. (* Photos of the dormitories are of some apartment-style dormitories; the actual accommodation and furnishings may differ.)

   Guidelines

- In the dormitory, you will share living space with friends of different nationalities. As it is a shared space with various people, please live with a mindset of mutual respect.

- Weekly cleaning includes floor cleaning, kitchen cleaning, and bathroom cleaning of common areas. Other tasks such as laundry, recycling, and dishwashing are the responsibility of the residents.

- A €100 room deposit will be required during the local orientation. This deposit covers potential damage or lost keys and will be fully refunded upon check-out if there are no issues with the room.

- Options such as private bathrooms and air conditioning are available for an additional fee. If you want any extra options, please inquire separately.

- For more detailed information about the accommodation, please contact us (email: koreagapyear@gmail.com).
