English education volunteer program in Cambodia

Program Introduction
Teachers are a compass and a strong supporter that guides children to a bright future. Please give a dream to Cambodian children who are addicted to drugs or exposed to child crimes and are wandering in the darkness without a ray of light. With a little help from you, you can have a meaningful and precious gap year with innocent Cambodian children pursuing their dreams.

Lovation
Cambodia’s official name is the ‘Kingdom of Cambodia’ and it borders Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand in the southeastern Indochina Peninsula.
Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, is an economic and political center where the painful past of French colonialism and modern development coexist. It is an attractive city with many things to see, including the National Museum, the Royal Palace, the Prime Minister’s Residence, and the Independence Monument. Still, you can also see the lives of Cambodian people struggling behind the rapid economic development.

Organization
This school was founded in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, by a young man in 1999. At that time, many poor children in Cambodia were unable to receive proper education due to unhappy family environments, poverty, and hunger, so crimes using children such as child prostitution, child labor exploitation, violence, and drug trafficking were rampant.
This is an organization that strives to solve these social problems by providing education to children so that they can protect their own future and rights. The organization has been recognized as an internationally prestigious NGO since receiving a prestigious award in the NGO category in 2006.

Travel information
Chiang Mai Wat Chiang Man
It is a place where innocent citizens were massacred by an armed group led by the Khmer Rouge from 1975 to 1979. It is a place where 2 million people, equivalent to a quarter of the population, were massacred over 3 years and 7 months. The remains, clothes, and teeth of those who were massacred at the time, as well as various torture devices, prisons, and photos of those who were massacred, are still preserved, allowing you to vividly see and feel the historical tragedy of that time. Cambodia’s sad history and pain are preserved. You will have time to feel the fear of distorted ideologies and the dignity of life in the buried killing fields.

Wat Phnom
Wat Phnom means ‘temple on a hill’. It is a quiet and clean park and is visited by many foreign tourists as well as domestic tourists. The legend of Wat Phnom is that once upon a time there was a very large flood in Phnom Penh and a tree was left floating in the river. There were four Buddha statues inside that tree, and the story goes that Wat Phnom was the place where a hill was built and a temple was built to enshrine these Buddha statues. We hope you will experience the deep Buddhist faith of the Cambodian people through the story of ‘Grandma Pen’, the origin of Wat Phnom.

Russian Market
Russian Market is a traditional market for Phnom Penh citizens. In the local pronunciation, it is called ‘Ptuol Pong’, and it is named because it was a place that sold Russian products in the past. You can see a wide variety of items, including traditional Cambodian food, books, clothing, artifacts and crafts for foreign tourists that are especially famous.
Touring a traditional market favored by locals is a great way to truly experience the local culture, right? Take the time to experience the various aspects of Cambodian life while exploring the Russian Market.
