Korea Gapyear logo and meaning

korea gapyear logo

Isn’t our logo cute?

Our Korea Gap Year team spent three months carefully crafting this logo. When you look at it, what comes to mind? Perhaps a whale? A tail?
Yes, that’s right!

The streamlined blue part represents the whale’s body,
and the white section inside symbolizes the tail.

So, why does the Korea Gap Year logo feature a whale?
Have you ever heard the song “Whale’s Dream” by Bobby Kim?

“Somewhere at the end of the blue sea, I set off with my white tail raised, searching for love. I, a great whale of the sea, keep wandering, searching for you. The white waves shake my heart, baby, once again…”

In our logo, the whale represents the pursuit of dreams instead of love.

The whale roams freely across the vast ocean, exploring the world and meeting various creatures like tropical fish, sea lions, and polar bears, gaining experiences along the way. Through these experiences, the whale finds its unique dream.

And what about the tail?

The tail is what propels the whale forward and steers its direction as it swims through the ocean. It’s the whale’s rudder and engine, driving it towards its dreams.

Our logo symbolizes our vision of helping young people in Korea find their direction, like the blue whale, and empowering them to pursue their dreams with determination.
