Similarities and differences between
transition year and gap year
More and more people are starting to ask what the difference is between a transition year and a gap year. The point is that it is difficult to find similarities and differences between two things.
We will take this opportunity to analyze it.
1. Transition Year and Gap Year have the same content and purpose.
Gap years first began in England in the 1960s.
Ireland, which is geographically close to the UK, accepted gap years in 1974.
The content and purpose of culturally and institutionally handling gap years and transition years are the same.
For a moment, ‘invest more time in career education and the process of finding your dream rather than studying.’
2. Transition Year and Gap Year have different targets.
Transition Year is intended for first-year high school students. This is a system in which students can choose whether to enroll in their first year of high school after graduating from middle school. My friend who chose Transition Year participated in the Transition Year program while attending high school. Conversely, it’s okay if you don’t participate.
But gap year always allows you to get away. After finishing the third year of middle school, after the third year of high school, and even after taking a temporary leave of absence or retirement from work, students can take a gap year program and take a gap year at any time to develop new dreams, creativity, career guidance, and direction in life.
3. Unlike a Gap Year, a Transition Year has someone to help you.
Transition Year provides career education and life direction to high school seniors. As a result, a position called Transition Year Coordinator resides at the school. Transition Year coordinators review career education with children and suggest a direction for moving forward.
On the other hand, a gap year can be said to build one’s direction in life through a company that produces and distributes gap year programs.
In conclusion, gap year and transition year are the same in terms of finding the direction and dream of life, although there is a difference in the target and the person who helps.
