Best value for money! Safely learn English in Malta, Europe!

  •

In Korea, whenever I did something, I mostly received negative reactions,

but in Europe, I was always praised and received positive feedback, which was great! Thanks to that, I feel like my personality has become more positive :)

Now, I have confidence that I can do well on my own wherever I go, and I'm looking forward to my future!

Great value! Safely learning English in Malta, Europe!

Yoon Ah Lee's review as Korea GapYear Participant

    # Hello! I’m a university freshman who went on a language study gap year in Malta as soon as I turned 20.

Hello! I participated in the 'Great value! Safely learning English in Malta, Europe!' program for a month in January,

I’m Yoonah, who has just become an adult and is about to start university.

I really wanted to travel abroad alone, and while looking for recommendations for a language study program,

I discovered the gap year program and decided to participate.

*For Yoonah, who wanted self-improvement and various experiences, there were personalized 1:1 missions provided daily, including activities to discover aspects of herself she didn't know about, and a gap year notebook to reflect and plan.

    # I wanted to develop myself and have various experiences!

Before entering university, I wanted time to find myself and think about my career.

I needed self-development time to become a better version of myself.

Also, I wanted to live like a local, make foreign friends, and visit various tourist attractions to learn and experience many things.

I mainly referred to the materials provided by Korea Gap Year for my preparation to leave the country, and I was able to gather a lot of information through internet searches and YouTube.

    # I met many wonderful people.

I remember the foreign friends I met during my language study in Malta.

It’s hard to pick just one person, I am so grateful and cherish everyone I met while participating!

So, I want to take on the strengths of all the friends I’ve met.

    # I gained confidence that I can do anything!

In Korea, when I did something, I often received negative reactions,

but in Europe, I was always praised or received positive reactions no matter what I did, and it felt great!!

As a result, I feel like my personality has also become more positive :)

Also, through various experiences, I came to understand the saying that 'travel makes us realize how small a place we occupy in the world'.

As I mingled with friends from various nationalities, I naturally developed a global mindset, and my perspective on the world expanded.

Now I feel confident that I can manage well anywhere I go, and I look forward to the future that lies ahead!

    # What is a day like in Malta?

I wake up between 6 and 7 AM, get ready for school, and board the bus at 8:30.

After arriving at school, I have my first class from 9:00 to 10:30, followed by a 30-minute break.

During the 30-minute break, I usually eat breakfast on the rooftop with friends,

go to a café, or take a stroll in Valletta.

After the break, I have my second class from 11:00 to 12:30, and then it's lunchtime.

For lunch, I sometimes eat out with friends, and other times I return to my flat to eat.

In the afternoon, I visit tourist spots with friends,

and in the evening, we go to pubs and clubs to have fun :D

    # It's not too late for a gap year language study in Malta! Just go for it!

There is a famous quote by author Simon Raven: "Life is short, and the world is wide. Therefore, it is best to start exploring the world quickly."

As this saying goes, I encourage you to travel while you are still young!

Coming to Malta made me realize how small the world I have been living in really was.

And since you're leaving anyway, I hope you get to visit several places. Malta is a country with a variety of attractions :)

    # My Tips for Preparing a Gap Year Language Study in Malta!

    - Language

: English and Maltese are primarily used. Since English is widely spoken, there were no communication issues.

Additionally, by meeting friends from various countries, you can learn different languages as well :D

    - Accommodation

: I lived in a shared flat (apartment-style accommodation) provided by the institution.

Since it is a living space with people of different nationalities and lifestyles, mutual consideration is very important!

    - Meals

: I usually went grocery shopping and cooked my own meals. This saved a lot of money and improved my cooking skills.

    - Things to Prepare

: I recommend definitely bringing an umbrella. It often rains a lot. Also, make sure to bring a hairdryer, and you don’t need to bring too many clothes!
