By recording your emotions and keeping a feelings journal, your ability to understand yourself grows. You can manage your mind better. As you notice your emotions and develop the skill to do so, each day becomes much more stable. You learn how to understand and empathize with others' emotions, improving relationships. You gain the ability to solve problems and think creatively by using your emotions. By looking deeply into your own mind and experiencing it, you feel calm on your own. By understanding your own and others' emotions, you can reduce unnecessary conflicts and anxiety. You experience smoother communication and seeing problems from new perspectives. By being honest about your emotions, your inner self becomes more resilient. You gain the strength to stay centered instead of being swept away by emotions, which brings balance to your life. You acquire the ability to live a healthier, more balanced life. Your self-management and stress-management skills also improve.

Emotions vary depending on the criteria and methods used to classify them, but typically about 50 to 150 different types of emotions are distinguished. A person's emotions are not simply joy, sadness, or anger; there are also various emotional states such as depression, poignancy, loneliness, and being emotionally moved.These emotions deeply influence our actions, choices, and thought processes,playing an important role in relationships and social lifeTherefore, the ability to recognize, understand, and manage one's emotions is an essential factor for living a better life.

If you have difficulty feeling emotions or experience emotional blunting, you may face challenges in decision-making and behavior and feel discomfort in social interactions. Furthermore, it can negatively affect physical health and even lead to a loss of meaning and purpose in life, so emotions serve a precious and important role. If you are struggling with these important emotional issues, people around you have likely offered various forms of advice about emotions.If it is difficult to be self-aware of your emotions and they cause discomfort with people around you, at work, or in your studies, making efforts in various wayscan be a method of learning.

The Emotional Awareness missiondevelops the ability to recognize, understand, and utilize one's emotionsand helps cultivate this ability so you can live a healthier and more balanced life.

The "Emotional Awareness" mission is organized around the following three focus areas.

1. Improve the ability to recognize and manage one's emotions

It aims to help you accurately recognize and understand your own emotions. The ability to recognize and appropriately handle your emotions plays an important role in self-management, stress management, and interpersonal relationships. Proper emotional regulation can reduce unnecessary conflict and anxiety and allow you to judge situations more positively. This process greatly helps maintain emotional stability.

2. Improve interpersonal and communication skills

The Emotional Awareness mission helps enhance empathy and communication skills. It allows you to become aware of your capacity to understand and empathize with others' emotions, making communication within relationships smoother. Additionally, the ability to express emotions in detail and to respect others' feelings is advantageous for preventing and resolving conflicts. This plays an important role in relationships at work, with friends, and within the family.

3. Enhance problem-solving and creative thinking

A person who can manage emotions wellhas better problem-solving abilitiesandCreative thinkingis outstanding. Emotional thinking is based on intuition and creativity, making it advantageous for solving problems from new perspectives and coming up with innovative ideas. Through the Emotion Awareness mission, you can develop creative and effective problem-solving skills. This enables more creative and flexible approaches to the various challenges you encounter at work or in daily life.

Managing emotions is important not only in daily life but also at work, in interpersonal relationships, and for personal growth. Through the mission, we can live a more balanced life.

*What is a Growth Report?

After a mission consultant thoroughly analyzes the missions you have completed,

we identify the participant's tendencies as seen through the missions, additional missions the participant may need, strengths that could be further developed, andareas that could be improvedthem

and provide them in a report.

Mission Tip!

1. The growth mission is your mission carried out during your gap year.

2. The estimated duration of this mission is about 15 days, and may vary depending on the participant's local circumstances or choice of mission. Make good use of your gap year to carry it out.

3. Growth Mission + Growth ReportIf you applied for them and complete more than 60% of the mission, you will receive a consultant-written personalized report.

- This project is carried out by participants themselves following the guides provided by Gap Year.

- The participant is personally responsible for the execution of the missions and their outcomes. Korea Gap Year does not take responsibility.

- The missions are written with general characteristics; if you find them too burdensome or unsuitable, it is recommended to skip them.

- This project is only available to participants who are participating in an actual overseas gap year project.

- Copyright for the provided mission content belongs to Korea Gap Year, and sharing or re-editing it with others is prohibited. Violations may result in legal penalties.
