#Became able to accept each other's differences #Life surrounded by beautiful nature #A sense of satisfaction; felt the beauty of the city

Malta is a country with truly beautiful cities and seas. From Sliema Beach to Café del Mar, Comino Island, Golden Bay Beach, etc. There are so many beautiful coastlines that you couldn''t possibly see them all.
Great value! Learn English safely in Mediterranean Malta! Hwang Sun-il, gap year participant (gapper) (24, university student) / 8-week gap year |
# I needed a proper personal vacation, so I participated in the Malta language-study project.

Hello, I''m 24-year-old university student Hwang Sun-il, who has just been discharged. I personally like things neat and I don''t like things that are too noisy.
I joined the gap year with a friend. The first reason I joined the gap year wasI wanted to experience European lifestyle and culture.I also felt like I might not get another chance to go to Europe if not now. Also, II wanted to get away from Korea and be alone with my thoughts, and I needed a proper personal vacation, soI participated in the Malta language-study project.
* For Mr. Hwang Sun-il, who wanted to regain his composure, a tailored 1:1 personal mission focused on self-reflection and peace of mind was provided daily, and a Gap Year Notebook to reflect and plan was also provided.
# Before leaving for Malta, I studied English in advance on YouTube.

I studied English on YouTube before going to Malta.I also used apps to talk with foreigners to practice the English I had studied.
I received a lot of advice on what to bring from friends who had traveled abroad. I searched online and bought the items I needed.
Through this gap year,
1. Break out of a fixed routine
2. Have everyday conversations in English
3. Meet European friends
4. Try to understand each other''s differences
5. Make my personality a bit gentler
I set these as my goals and left.

Malta is a country with truly beautiful cities and seas. From Sliema Beach to Café del Mar, Comino Island, Golden Bay Beach, there are so many beautiful coastlines you couldn''t see them all. Among them, the absolute best was the Blue Lagoon and Crystal Lagoon on Comino Island — a color of water I had never seen in my life.
Not only the sea, but even the ordinary towns, with buildings that looked simple and similarly colored, were really pretty. There were so many houses they even looked somewhat old-fashioned, and each town was really beautiful.Among them, Mdina, the old capital of Malta, was truly the best. It''s a very beautiful yet small city that has even been used as a filming location for American TV series, and having the Dingli Cliffs nearby makes it even more perfect when seen together.
# My personality has changed a lot, and we came to accept each other''s differences.

My daily routine in Malta was waking up at 7:30 AM and then going to school by 9:00 AM.
School finished at 12:30 PM. When I got home it was usually around 2:00 PM. From 2:00 PM I usually took a nap. I would have dinner and hang out with friends.
After I finished this language study program in Malta My personality has changed a lot, and we came to accept each other''s differences.
# My gap year TIPs

- Language
: Don''t rely solely on the language school.
: Watch YouTube and study everyday conversation lessons.
: Use apps to talk in English with foreigners in advance.
- Meals
: If possible, go to an Asian market and cook your own food.
: Restaurants are more expensive than you might expect.
: It''s much cheaper to buy ingredients at the supermarket and cook yourself.
- Essentials to bring
: Be sure to bring motion sickness medicine and basic first-aid medications.
# My Malta travel TIPs

1. Definitely visit Comino Island (the Crystal Lagoon is better than the Blue Lagoon).
2. Make good use of the beaches in Sliema — there are so many really beautiful spots.
3. Be sure to visit Mdina and the Dingli Cliffs.
4. Be sure to visit Cafe Delma.
5. While specific places in Malta are pretty, the ordinary towns themselves are simple and very beautiful.
