I only reply now because I''ve been thinking about many things after receiving the email haha.
I can''t believe a month has already passed. Time has gone by so quickly.
Maybe I was really lucky. I got along really well with my flatmates,and I was assigned to a really great place to stay,
so I adapted very quickly.So when my family and close friends call me,
they say my facial expression and voice are much better than before haha.
Yes. It''s gotten much better.
Not much has changed yet, but
I think I''ve become a bit more honest with myself than before.
Before coming to Malta, I wasn''t sure if choosing a gap year was the right decision,from confusion,
I cried a lot on the plane heading to London.When they dimmed the lights on the plane,
I think I cried for over an hour.Fortunately the two seats next to me were empty, and when I cried I didn''t make a sound,
I only shed tears, so I cried on the plane until I was completely exhausted.
After a night in London and then arriving in Malta, I felt relieved.
And then I completely adjusted in just a week! Of course, there were rough patches along the way.
If I had to say why,it was probably when behaviors or habits I wanted to give up would suddenly appear.
At those moments I felt a bit disappointed in myself and even disliked myself.
Each time that happened, I took time for myself — went to places I like or took walks and sorted out my thoughts,
and I even accepted that as part of who I am.
Maybe because of that, my reactions were different. If I faced the same situation in Korea,
I would have been mentally stressed out because I couldn’t get rid of those feelings (a somewhat strong expression, but it felt most appropriate).
Here, however, I was able to forget those things more easily.And when the same situation occurs,
I gained a bit of the flexibility to handle it more calmly,. Perhaps because of that,it feels like it was truly a good decision.
Even now, among the things I heard during the consultation, this phrase comes to my mind the most.
"Leave right now."
Thank you for saying that! After the consultation,
after deciding on the gap year program and coming here, it’s the phrase that stayed with me the most.
If it’s something I want to do in the future without regrets,I want to enjoy the process of becoming someone who is more honest with myself.
Also, being here has made English fun again.Seriously, learning English these days has never been this enjoyable *_*
I’m being sincere hahahaSo I want to get better at English.
To be specific, I want to improve my speaking a bit more,and become someone who’s good at it.
And if I feel that I’ve done everything I wanted to do here without regrets, I want to do it all and then return to Korea.
