# I applied because it seemed like the perfect project for me.

Hello. I am a 28-year-old graduate student.I was stressed trying to decide between getting a job and attending graduate school, so I thought about traveling and found this through an internet search. The reviews were also positive,It seemed like the perfect project for me, so I applied. Also, when I applied, I called Gap Year and received a lot of help, so I was able to apply easily.
I also wanted to travel but didn''t want to plan the trip, so that was another reason I applied.
# I ended up going to Paris.

I didn''t have any major worries before leaving, butIf I had to say,I was a little worried because I heard there were many pickpockets in Paris, and I was also worried about not being able to communicate (the language barrier).
I started preparing two days before departure.I began preparing in earnest.I exchanged money at the bank, went to a department store and bought a toothbrush, toothpaste, a jacket, and thermal underwear.I also bought instant noodles and checked my passport. They said photos were needed, so I packed those too.I borrowed a bag from acquaintances. And so I set off for Paris.
# I achieved all the goals I had before leaving.

I left wanting to gain a lot of experience, and looking back now, I achieved that. Also, while in Paris I wanted to meet and experience many people, and I feel like I''ve greatly expanded my network.
Before leaving I didn''t know much about architecture, but I enjoyed seeing many architectural styles different from those in my country,I also wasn''t familiar with art, but I visited museums and enjoyed many artworks.I wanted to go to France''s Louvre Museum to broaden my horizons and knowledge, Seeing world-renowned cultural heritage, I feel like I''ve broadened my knowledge and horizons.
Looking back now as a whole, I could see that I had improved compared to before I went.
I achieved all my goals before leaving.
# Because of the nature of the project, there was a high degree of freedom, so I visited all the places I could go.

I would get up, eat, talk with people, go out to have fun, and drink at night.Because of the nature of the project, there was a lot of freedom.I visited all the places I could go. Sometimes I also went out with travelers staying at Korean guesthouses.Mostly, I spent a lot of time with family members.Seeing families visit, I realized that many people seemed to be quite well-off.
I got to know many people.I also thought that I should plan my trips more carefully, and I learned a lot of things I didn''t know by talking with people. I felt that I needed to study more, and I was impressed by the buildings and new things I saw.I also realized that my learning is still insufficient.
# To prospective participants

Have fun. Also, gain as much experience as you can. If you study a lot beforehand, you''ll have an even better time. It''s also good to read many blogs.Read lots of reviews and you''ll be able to meet many people.
One thing is for sureIt will be a truly meaningful experience.
# My personal Paris travel tips

I mainly looked up information on blogs before going. To give you the detailed itinerary,It''s good to go to Montmartre Hill through a travel agency.Mont Saint-Michel is also great to visit through a travel agency.
Taking the Bateaux-Mouches in the evening is nice because you can see the sunset. There are also night-view tours; if you go through Yurang or a travel agency, you''ll be able to get to know many people.
# I saw and learned a lot during my month in Paris.

I really saw and learned a lot during my month in Paris. While staying at the guesthouse assigned by the project, I saw a lot, and the owner was very kind.
I sincerely thank the Gap Year team for allowing me to have this experience.During the month, I really liked that breakfast and dinner were provided, and there was so much free time that I was able to see everything in Paris. If I have the chance to come again, I definitely want to come through Gap Year.
The distance to the station wasn''t far, and it was easy to get to the city center. Also, the price was affordable, so I felt very grateful. The cost of living in Paris is very high, but they provided Korean meals for breakfast and dinner which perfectly suited my taste, and the owner was also kind, so it was a great place to stay.
Next time, I would like to participate in volunteer work and live with other Gap Year participants.I sincerely thank the hardworking Gap Year staff, and if I have the time and opportunity, I want to travel and volunteer through Gap Year again. After returning, I was greatly inspired and have been studying more.
Thank you.
