#Learned about working life; became more positive #A sense of camaraderie with the Haeundae family; learned how to resolve misunderstandings #Experienced the difficulties and personal growth of social/working life
During my Gap Year Stay, there were some minor misunderstandings. But they were literally misunderstandings, and I think I learned a lot in the process of resolving them. In particular, by attempting to talk, listen, and speak with each other to clear them up, some relationships became even stronger afterwards.
- The place full of youth! Haeundae! Gap Year Stay / Kim Myung-jin, Gap Year family gapper / 4 weeks of gap year |

At first, it was a bumpy start heading to Haeundae.

I had to spend a month with people I didn''t know at all. Of course, meeting new people is exciting, but it also felt burdensome.I thought it might be a difficult thing, and I even wondered if I shouldn''t go. I lacked confidence.
The real family who wrapped my anxiety in comfort

When I talk about the good things or the lessons I learned through the Haeundae Gap Year Stay, I cannot leave out the Haeundae family.I arrived in Haeundae feeling anxious. When I got to the guesthouse where I would work and saw the owner couple and the manager greet me energetically, I felt relievedI felt relieved.
At the guesthouse, my main job was cleaning rooms after guests checked out. Since I had similar part-time experience before, the cleaning workwas not that unfamiliar, so I adapted to the work quickly.
What I remember most while working was the meal we had together around 2 o''clock after finishing work. Even at home it''s hard to eat together, but herethe dishes the manager cooked himself and the meals everyone gathered to eat together were truly delicious.
Like the ground hardening after rain

I met good people and found work that suited me to some extent, but as with anything involving people, things can''t always be perfect, and during my Gap Year Stay I also experienced a minormisunderstanding. But it was literally a misunderstanding, and I think I learned a lot in the process of resolving it.In particular, to clear up the misunderstanding,we tried to talk to one another, listened and spoke, and afterward some relationships became stronger.
As a gapper who experienced the Gap Year Stay first, if I were to say a word to future participants,I hope you don''t come with only simple excitement, but alsorecognize that this place is a part of society. I believe that difference in mindset will let you gain many more lessons.I believe so.

When I first decided to take a gap year, the main goal was ''rest.'' Juggling university and work left me no time for serious life reflectionor even time to rest. As I was graduating from university this time, I applied to the program to take a break and rethink my future.so I applied to the program to try and do that.
In fact, during the gap year I did not produce tangible results like language certificates or a portfolio. However, I am satisfied.I am satisfied. Even now I keep in touch with the guesthouse family living in Haeundae, and I have connections I made through taking the gap year. It''s thanks to the lessons and realizations about social life, and the new experiences that filled the summer of 2015.
