#Changed to a proactive attitude of 'I'll try anything'. #Gained relaxation and new learning experiences in Paris. #The gap year became a turning point in my life.

I decided to take a leave of absence with the intention of trying the things I wanted to do but couldn''t because I was busy doing what I had to do. While on leave and doing various jobs, I learned about Gap Year Stay through social media. Because I wanted to meet various people, have conversations, and gain new experiences, ''France Paris, Gap Year Stay'' appealed to me as if it had been made just for me.

I wasn''t hoping for it to be a turning point in my life.

During that timethe things I had to dothat I couldn''t do because I was busy withtry the things I wanted to dowith that in mind, I decided to take a leave of absence.

While on leave and doing various jobs, I found out about Gap Year Stay through social media. Because I wanted to meet various people, converse, and have new experiences, ''France Paris, Gap Year Stay'' appealed to me as if it had been made for me.

I wasn''t hoping for a turning point in my life. I just wanted to know myself a little better and have new experiences. That was all.

And Gap Year Stay was a great opportunity to satisfy that. But I was a little worried. Although I had done many jobs from serving to installing air conditioners, it was my first time at a guesthouse.

Every day was a new lesson

To put it simply, the owner and the friends I lived with were so helpful and considerate that my worries proved unfounded, and thanks to them I was able to adapt quickly and enjoy myself. It was so fun and pleasant to share stories with a variety of people, from guests who quit their jobs to travel to guests who were briefly traveling during an exchange program. For me, each day was new and a learning experience.

Also, while living in Paris I was able to truly feel a sense of ''leisure.'' From small gardens to the Montmartre hill, wherever there was grass and benches, leisure overflowed. Even after stepping outside for a moment, the sunlight was sharp enough to redden the skin, and seeing locals lie on the lawns and soak it up as if gaining energy made me anew realize the cultural differences.

When I first signed up for Gap Year Stay, I simply thought that by living in an unfamiliar place and talking with people who had various thoughts, I would come to know myself better. But Gap Year Stay became my life''sturning point.IfI hadn''t participated, I would right now be sitting in the library wearing sweatpants aiming for employment rather than pursuing my dream.

    turning point

If there are friends reading this who are hesitating to take a gap year because of time and money, I want to say this: time that has passed does not come back. So you must spend each day doing your best. Of course, everyone''s timing is different, so a gap year won''t be a turning point in everyone''s life. However, after having a gap year, when you look back, at leastyou will not regret that time. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to Korea Gap Year for giving me this opportunity.

      Recommended travel spots

Paris''s Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and Versailles are all great, but in the suburbs of Paris, ''Étretat'' is what I would like to recommend.

Étretat is famous for its Elephant Rock, and by public transport it takes a total of 3 hours to get there (2 hours by train + 1 hour by bus).

If you plan to visit as a day trip, it''s best to leave early in the morning, and since it''s on the coast and quite windy, it''s a good idea to bring warm clothing.
