First Step to Finding a Happy Job (2nd Cohort) — Gap Year Review

#More agency in life, improved ability to execute #Self-understanding, practical advice #A resolve to do what I truly want

  •

Unlike assignments done at school, it was meaningful to meet people working in my field of interest directly and get information; it was useful to hear realistic stories and tips.

-The first step to finding work that makes you happy

    Q. What made you decide to participate in the course?

Before deciding on a career, about myself self-understandingwas lacking. So I wanted to organize the fragmented information about myself to find direction. Also, I wanted to hear from professionals rather than a community made up of students job market trends.

    Q. Which part of the 8-week course impressed you most?

    Analyzingmyself.

The process of getting to know yourself may look easy, but doing it alone felt overwhelming and difficult. However, in class we could go through the process of getting to know myself in various ways, so it was fun and helpful. Interviewing professionals in the job I’m interested in was also impressive. Unlike school assignments, meeting people working in my field of interest directly to get information was meaningful, and it was useful to hear realistic stories and tips.

    Q. What do you think are the strengths or special features of this course?

Although it''s a short period, people looking for a career path could get a broad taste of what they need.

For example, I think the key going forward is for each person to appropriately apply the resources learned here—from self-understanding programs to interview preparation methods.

    Q. ''The First Step to Finding a Happy Job'' — who would you strongly recommend this to?

    1. Students who want to know about changing job market trends에 대해 알고 싶은 학생들

    2. Students who want to find a job based on themselves rather than on situations or others'' standards으로 직업을 찾고 싶은 학생들

    Q. Lastly, please tell us about any changes in your thoughts or actions through the course.

    - Change in prejudices about occupations

    Before the course

    After the course

There is a clear job connected to one''s major

Workers in that profession only do one thing.

For example, a florist only sells flowers

    Doctors only treat patients.

Even a single occupation, depending on how it is applied,

    can become ten different jobs.

A florist for people who need psychological therapy

plans a regular flower delivery service.

A doctor provides medical information services to patients through comics.

    - Change in mindset about the future

    Before the course

    After the course

    - Concerned about how others see me

Afraid to take a different path from others.

    - As a result of holding myself back, I''ve fallen into a rut.

    - Don''t be consumed by your surroundings and lose yourself.

Let''s do what I truly want.

    - Stop needless worrying and take action.

    And live vibrantly.
