The life-changing 'JaegleJaegle' humanities debate: Gap year review on expressing myself

#Developed a habit of thinking deeply #Realization of the necessity of the humanities #An experience of expanding thought and understanding

  • In this humanities debate course, I found it particularly noteworthy that the students themselves engage in debates and take an active stance. Because of that, what initially felt difficult and awkward about debating has become so appealing that I now itch to debate someone.

    - JaegeulJaegeul Humanities Debate That Changes My Life: Expressing Myself

    Q. What made you decide to participate in the lecture?
Humanitiesand debateI was attracted by the fact that I could tackle both at once.
Actually, my principle was to enjoy life and live lightly, but I thought that at some point I should take my life seriously — and I felt that the time is now.

If you take a humanities course,an attitude toward lifeI had a vague expectation that it might change somewhat, and since I was usually confident in speaking, I thought trying a debate would be fun, so I enrolled in the humanities debate course.

    Q. Which lecture content impressed you the most?
I came across several cases where world-class geniuses had their lives turned 180 degrees through encounters with the humanities, and I deeply realized the necessity of the humanities.

    Q. What do you think are the strengths or special features of this lecture?
I think that taking courses in Korea often requires a fairly passive stance.
The teacher talks and the students sit and listen...

But in this humanities debate course, the studentsdirectly debate and take an active attitudewhich felt special. Thanks to that, debating, which at first seemed difficult and awkward, has become something I’m so into that I practically itch to argue with someone.
