#Broke occupational prejudices; changed values #Career direction, high-quality employment information #Felt the importance of personalized career education

  • Because it''s not a university lecture or a large-scale talk, I think the advantage and uniqueness of this course is that it can provide career education tailored to each individual''s career and story.

    - 16 weeks, the first step to finding happy work with instructor Choi Kyung-hee

What made you decide to participate in the lecture ''16 Weeks, The First Step to Finding Happy Work''?
LectureAt the time of applying for the lecture, I was job-hunting. After interviewing at several companies, I seriously questioned the choices of roles and companies I had been considering. I was thinking about the direction of the career I would build and what kind of work I should start my career with. I was looking for someone who could advise me about careers and tell me about the realities of the job market and job roles. Then, through an acquaintance''s introduction I was introduced to the Gap Year program and was able to start the 16-week lecture program.

Among the 16-week lectures you attended, which lecture content impressed you the most?
Someone working at an advertising company once gave an external lecture. Watching that person, I was able to break the preconceptions and prejudices I had about people who work in advertising. It was also a time to feel their passion—how they were able to grow to their current career and how much they love their work. It made me personally realize that one important element in career and vocational education is hearing stories from people who are actually doing the work.

What do you think are the strengths or special features of the 16-week lectures you participated in?
The advantage and uniqueness of the 16-week lectures is that the instructor freely adjusts the lecture content to suit the people attending. Because it''s not a university or a large lecture, I think the benefit and specialness of this course is that it can provide career education tailored to each individual''s career and story.

Also, because the course sources are diverse, I think a strength is that you can obtain high-quality information about employment and career paths.

''16 Weeks, The First Step to Finding Happy Work'' — highly recommended for students like these!
People who don''t really know what kind of person they are.
People who look for job information on Naver Cafes.
People who want to connect with others who are driven by passion for their dreams.
People who haven''t thought much about what work means.

Finally, please tell us about changes in your thoughts or actions resulting from the 16-week lectures.

    - Change in prejudices about occupations

    Before the 16-week lecture

    After the 16-week lecture

I must get an annual salary of at least 30 million won!

I''d work anywhere that will accept me.

    The first job is important!

Company atmosphere is more important than salary.

A company I choose, not a place that just accepts me.

The job itself (duties) is more important than the job title!

    - Changes in future life and mindset

     Before the 16-week lecture

    After the 16-week lecture

Preparing for employment is so exhausting, I want to give up.

After getting a job, will I just do fixed tasks like a cog in a machine?

Since this is the process of finding a company where I''ll work for at least a few years.

Even if it''s tough, let''s find a company that''s right for me!

Depending on my passion and attitude, even at the same company and in the same role,

I can definitely achieve different results!
