#Gained mental ease through self-reflection #Learning to stand on my own and the joy of communication #A valuable, rewarding month; no downsides

First, I really liked that I could learn a bit more about tourism, which is my area of interest, and that I had the opportunity to talk with various people. I also realized that one of the things I need as I slowly start preparing for employment is Japanese or Chinese.
- Busan: I want to live there. A passionate second city / 4-week gap year |
Busan — how did I visit?
I decided to go to Busan for the first time, and since I was going, I resolved to take a proper trip. Then, by chance,
while searching for information about Busan I learned about something called a gap year, and that system appealed to me greatly.
Board and lodgingare available, and that after finishing work there is plenty of personal time.
Without considering other options, I proceeded swiftlyand headed to Busan.
With the excitement that the coming month would be full of thrills...
The younger colleagues I worked with at the guesthouse, the manager staff, and the aunt who helped out were all kind people, and in adapting there was
nomajor difficulty. The daily routine was cleaning the guesthouse rooms (it sounds simple but requires thoroughness!)work,
and sometimes, when guests arrived, chatting with them and providing information. After the day''s work was done, the rest was my time, and
I spent most of it at the pier near the guesthouse, smelling the sea and reading, or (as late November came,
the weather got much colder so it didn''t last long) I would take the subway and go on short trips.

The clear autumn airrefreshed my spirit, and the wide sea of Busan filled my heart with emotion.
Busan, which I had only seen through the media, was truly as dynamic as its slogan. The more I got to know Busan,
the more satisfied I was with my decisionto spend a month on a gap year.
Although I didn''t accomplish all the goals I set when I first started the gap year, living apart from my family for a month and being alone
felt truly valuable. I had leisurely time to think by myself and many opportunities to
communicate with people from various places, so I think I was able to make the one-month gap year very rewarding. I wanted to point out issues with gap year life, but
no matter how I thought about it, I couldn''t find any faults. During the gap year I was able to truly feel and
enjoy Busan, and I also met many good people. Because of this charming trip and life, if given the chance, I would like to do it
in other places as well.

This month, which will take its place as an unforgettable memory in a corner of my life, during that time I gained a lot and had valuable experiences
I did. A few days later, as I write, I''m smiling thinking about that time. With the cool sea breeze of Busan and looking forward to the day we''ll meet again
I finish this writing looking forward to that day and to the new trip to come.
Finding Sum GuesthouseAs for whether there were problems getting there, the directions are
From Nampo Station Exit 7, it''s relatively easy and close to get to, so there was no problem finding it.
If you get off at Busan Station (KTX), transfer to Line 1 and it''s two stops to Nampo Station!
Common languageEnglishIn reality,English and Chinesewere languages many people used.
There was no difficulty conversing in English, but when dealing with Chinese or Japanese tourists who aren''t good at English,
there was a bit of difficulty.
My personal advice on language use for the gap year program (e.g., how to study beforehand)
It''s good to be strong in the language, but even if you''re not, rather than avoiding people, always greet guests with a smiling face and a friendly attitude.
I think it''s good to treat guests that way.
Accommodation
: Guesthouse vacant rooms.
Because you have to use the guesthouse''s vacant rooms, on days when it''s full you may have to stay in the same room as guests,
so you''ll need to make a lot of effort not to inconvenience each other.
Guests know you''re staff, so be extra careful with your words and actions!
Meals
: Use provided meals / purchase individually
I''m not picky and ate well, enjoying the meals the host gave, but even if you have a picky palate,
there are many places nearby to buy food, so it shouldn''t be a big inconvenience.
Items I was inconvenienced by not having/Convenient items
Everything you might need is available and it''s easy to find nearby, so there weren''t any items I particularly lacked or had trouble with.
Even if you''ll buy what you need when you get there, pack lightly when you depart! There''s nothing you can''t find!
