#From weakness to a stronger, more mature self #The sweet taste of achievement from overcoming adversity #The most wonderful, happiest time

I wasn''t sure I could manage cycling alone around Jeju and worried I might give up halfway, but whenever that thought came up I forced myself to endure by thinking of the many greater temptations and hardships I might face in the future. By overcoming it with that mindset, after participating I became stronger and more mature than before.

Through the gap year camp program I participated in: What I liked·Things that moved me, lessons learned, realizations, etc.
It was an incredibly happy time. I saw only good things in beautiful places, happened to meet wonderful people, and although we met for the first time we hung out like old friends, took photos to keep the memories, and encouraged one another. It made me think, ''Ah — this is why you travel!'' During the trip, although the bicycle trip was sometimes hard, the sweetness of the brief rest after overcoming all hardships and the sense of achievement from having conquered myself are feelings I don''t think I would have dared to experience if it hadn''t been a cycling trip.
From start to finish, without leaving anything out, the ''Blue Bike Global Story'' program will remain a lifelong good memory. I sincerely thank Korea Gapyear for creating the program and giving me the opportunity to participate.
Were there people you met or traveled with while participating in the gap year program?
Seongsan Ilchulbong (Seongsan Sunrise Peak)To see it, I stayed at a guesthouse in Seongsan the night before. That evening a small chicken-and-beer party was held, and I quickly built friendships with many travelers while exchanging travel stories. We took group photos and left behind unforgettable memories.
At the bus stop in front of Gimnyeong Maze Park, I happened to meet Roy and his friend. Instead of asking in English, they handed me a tasty chocolate bar while I was staring off and doing something else, which put me at ease. Because I took the initiative to ask in English where they were going and how to get there and to explain, I discovered another side of myself. Meeting those two friends — who even praised me with ''Great!!~'' despite my lack of confidence in English — was such a joyful and memorable experience.
If you felt any change in yourself when comparing before and after participating in the gap year program
I wasn''t sure I could manage cycling alone around Jeju and worried I might give up halfway, but whenever that thought came up I told myself to endure by thinking of the many greater temptations and hardships ahead and, with that mindset, overcame and got through it.It changed me, making me firmer and more mature than before.

Tell us about your own travel route during your gap year.
To tour around the entire Jeju coastline,I think a 3-night, 4-day itinerary is a bit tight but a suitable schedule. However, from experience, when cycling it''s often difficult to visit many attractions along the way due to routing and scheduling constraints, so rather than setting too many goals, just cycling around the entire Jeju coast alone will be a sufficiently satisfying trip.
