#Being kinder to myself, improved self-esteem #Time for self-reflection, new goals #Malta's healing effects and newfound courage

While spending time in Malta''s environment, I was able to step back from psychological pressure, enjoy leisure in Malta, heal, and focus on myself. Freed from pressure and spending time entirely as myself, I encountered the version of me who makes choices, deals with outcomes, and acknowledges them. When I''m more gentle with myself, there are more things I can take on. Best value for money! Learn English safely in Malta in the European Mediterranean! Review by Lee O-i, a gapper |
# Before getting a job, I was a job-seeker who set off to find an experience that would help me believe in myself!

Hello! I''m Lee O-i, a job-seeker who went to Malta for language study. After graduating university and before starting a job, I thought I needed time to get to know myself better and gain confidence.
I''ve usually had weak belief in myself and tended to only acknowledge things after hearing them from others. I thought I needed an opportunity to improve my self-esteem and confidence, and I hoped I could accept what I felt while spending time for myself. That''s what I thought.

Without being constrained by my environment, I could try what was possible in the moment, so I chose a language-study program in Malta, Europe, which I had always wanted to visit.
*For Lee O-i, who needed time before employment to gain certainty about herself and her career path, it was important to have the experience of trusting and acting on her own choices in a free environment to build confidence. We recommended a customized gap year plan through consulting to support Lee O-i''s change. :)Want a customized plan for where and how to start changing? We highly recommend 1:1 consulting with a gap year specialist!

# If you are more generous to yourself, there are more things you can do.

The biggest difference before and after the trip was that I became more lenient with myself. During the one-month stay, I realized once again that I had been strict with myself and tended to underestimate myself.
In Korea, my biggest worry was getting a job. In fact, I didn''t want to rush into employment and thought I needed more time to gain experiences that would give me confidence, but as a job-seeker I couldn''t escape the word ''employment''.
Spending time in Malta allowed me to step back from psychological pressure, enjoy the leisure there, heal, and focus on myself. Freed from pressure and spending time fully as myself, I could meet the part of me who makes choices, deals with results, and acknowledges them. When I''m kinder to myself, there are more things I can challenge myself with.

# I was better than I thought I was!
Actually, it was my first time going abroad alone, so I was very worried. But once I started, I found that I was someone who could get around actively and do well. Also, seeing myself get along with unfamiliar foreigners made me feel that I can get along anywhere with anyone. Talking with people and receiving compliments...I often felt that I was much more okay than I thought. Even now that I''m back, I''m trying to acknowledge what I felt and accept it better.
Also, meeting friends of various nationalities in Malta felt amazing and was an important experience. I built unforgettable memories with friends and developed precious relationships, and if there''s an opportunity I''d like to meet them again anytime, anywhere.Because I enjoyed conversing in English so much, I plan to continue studying English if possible, and travelling to various countries has become my new goal.
# Malta language-study gap year — here''s my daily routine!

There are morning and afternoon classes, and you can choose whether to take afternoon classes.
I only signed up for morning classes, so classes finished at 12:30 PM.
From 9:00 to 10:30 AM there''s a 1 hour 30 minute class followed by a 30-minute break. Then classes run from 11:00 to 12:30 PM.
If you don''t have afternoon classes, you can enjoy free time after the morning classes end.

Among Malta areas I recommend Sliema and St. Julian’s. You can walk there while looking at the sea, and there are many benches where you can sit and watch the sea. The night view is also beautiful.
# My tips for preparing a Malta language-study gap year!

Before leaving for Malta, I worried about whether the food would suit my taste and whether communication would be possible, but I was more excited than anxious. I researched Malta online and read the materials sent by Korea Gap Year via email, preparing what I needed step by step.

Unbeatable tips to enjoy your gap year even moreI''ll share them too!
When you go abroad, the culture and environment are inevitably different. Rather than constantly comparing things to life in Korea and focusing on awkwardness or discomfort, if you accept the country as it is and enjoy it, you''ll have a much better experience.
#My Malta language study gap year is!

Experience★★★★★
: I think living in another country for a month is an experience you don''t get to have easily. I was glad to have a new experience!
Learning★★★★★
: I was happy to be able to learn English, and through conversations with foreign friends I gained new facts and insights!
Environment★★★★
: In Malta you''ll experience a power outage at least once! It''s unfamiliar and things move more slowly than in Korea, but it does get resolved.
Safety★★★★
: There are few crosswalks and some roads without sidewalks. It''s good to be extra careful when crossing streets or walking around!
Leisure ★★★★
: Since I only had morning classes, I was able to spend my time freely after classes!
