After participating in the gap year project My confidence improved even more. And I discovered something new I want to try. The start of a fulfilling working holiday! Learning English in Melbourne, Australia Im O-a''s review as a gapper |
# Hello. I am a job seeker who went to Melbourne, Australia for language study.

As I was about to graduate from university, I felt like living life the way I want and doing what I want to do.
I wanted to discover my true self during that time.I was especially stressed by my surroundings, so I felt it was important to get out of a familiar environment. After looking into several programs, my interest in a working holiday grew, and I applied without hesitation for an English study program in Australia that would let me easily experience a working holiday. 😄
* For Im O-a, who participated to find her true self, personalized 1:1 individual missions were provided, such as activities where the participant could freely do what they wanted and activities to truly enjoy the gap year.
>> Entry fee 100 won! Go to the gap year mission
# I wanted to change from being fearful of challenges.

I wanted to change from my usual lack of initiative.
So I felt I needed time to get to know and understand myself, and I went to Australia for language study.
Through the gap year, starting from the simplest questions like what I like and what I dislike,
I wanted to find answers to more complex questions, such as how I want to live in the future.
The departure-related materials were well organized by Korea GapYear, so I was able to prepare without difficulty.
I also worked part-time consistently to cover the living expenses needed for a one-month stay in Australia.
# I gained the strength to live for tomorrow.

There were many things I had to do, but I wasn''t very motivated and was drifting a lot regarding my career path.
As a result, my self-esteem dropped a lot.
By participating in the Australian language study program, I met friends from many different nationalities, and watching friends who face reality and get by gave me a lot of courage.
The biggest change after joining the project is my confidence! Through the language study abroad, I found something new I want to challenge myself with.
The English study program in Australia became an opportunity for me to grow more, and I want to use it as a stepping stone to become a better person. 😁
# I received warm love in Australia.

HoI applied for an English program in Australia and arranged a homestay to help me adapt to the local environment.
For four weeks, I was loved by my homestay family and learned what love is.
In particular, the homestay mom was so wonderful that I could say she was the warmest person I’ve ever met.
I, who wasn’t good at expressing emotions, began to express myself, and thanks to the homestay family, I adapted well in Australia.
And on my birthday in Australia, the homestay family prepared cake, food, and even presents,
so I had a truly warm birthday.
# It became a time I could fully focus on myself!

It became an opportunity to discover a new side of myself in Australia.
Through time spent focusing entirely on myself, I realized that I am a precious and valuable person.
Reach out first in a new environment. Then just start—anything is okay!
Just do it! Before you know it, you’ll meet a changed version of yourself.
# A day in an English program in Melbourne, Australia?

I wake up at 6 a.m., get ready, and go to school. I attend classes from 8:50 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., and after classes
I go on city tours with friends or take after-school classes run by the school.
Then I returned home and had dinner and conversation with my homestay mom.
At night we gathered together, ate popcorn, and watched an Australian football game called the AFL.
Because I spent the day so productively, once it was past 10 p.m. I would get very sleepy!
I lived a very regular life, going to bed early and waking up at 6:00 a.m.
Even on weekends when I could have slept in, I often woke up early and went to the early-morning market.
I also had time to enjoy walks in the nearby park while watching kangaroos.
# My recommended Melbourne language-study travel route

There’s a park called Westerfolds in Melbourne, Australia.
If you walk about 10 minutes in this park, you can encounter wild kangaroos and wallabies freely roaming the fields.
However, they’re quite large, so please be careful 😅

And one thing you absolutely must do when you go to Melbourne is the Great Ocean Road tour.
It’s a place of such stunning natural beauty that it has even appeared in advertisements as a must-visit destination in one’s lifetime.
Take a local tour or rent a car and be sure to visit the Great Ocean Road 👍🏻
# My gap year studying English in Melbourne, Australia was!
Experience★★★★★
I had many precious experiences I wouldn’t have had if not for my gap year.
Learning ★★★★
Not only did I learn English, but I also learned about life through the people I met in Australia.
Environment★★★★
I used to have many complaints about my surroundings, but my month in Australia was so precious every day that those thoughts completely disappeared.
Safety ★★★★★
In my personal opinion, I felt Australia was safer than Korea :)
Leisure ★★★
There aren''t as many things to do compared to Korea, but it''s enough to leisurely enjoy Australia''s unique atmosphere!
