PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

PROJECT INTRODUCTION

This project involves volunteering to help with the rescue, rehabilitation, and recovery of animals at a shelter in Goa, India. As you care for sick and abandoned animals alongside local rescue experts, you will experience personal healing through the trust and love shown by the animals.

In the beautiful streets of Goa, you often encounter animals roaming freely. However, this freedom also brings significant risks. Many animals suffer serious injuries from accidents or are left alone after losing their parents. Unfortunately, some animals lose their lives due to lack of proper help.

Please add your love so that the animals in Goa can recover their health. With your added love, you can help save the lives of animals at the shelter.

Unlike typical shelter volunteer activities that mainly care for abandoned dogs and cats, in Goa, India, you can encounter cows, goats, and chickens. Cows, commonly seen on Indian streets, are often involved in traffic accidents, so the shelter frequently cares for injured cows and calves.

If you are looking for an opportunity to meet and care for various animals, head to Goa, India right now! You will have a unique experience that is not easily found elsewhere.

In the shelter, volunteers are advised to be cautious, as staring directly into an animal’s eyes can be perceived as a threat. To approach animals, a gradual process of building trust is necessary. Once trust is established, you can get close and pet them freely.

Animals that open up to people show boundless trust and affection. Spend time with these loving animals and feel the warmth of their hearts. The love from animals will heal the wounds within you. Experience a healing time in Goa with these animals!

If you have a dream of traveling to India but are hesitant to go, volunteering in Goa can be a great way to get accustomed to India before embarking on your trip. Live with local staff, experience India safely, and hear diverse travel stories from international friends. Once your volunteer work is complete and you start your journey, you will be able to enjoy India more easily, comfortably, and richly. Begin creating unforgettable memories starting from Goa.

To communicate with animals, focus on non-verbal expressions such as sounds, facial expressions, and body language. It might feel challenging due to the lack of direct communication, but with sufficient affection, you can have a connecting experience where understanding is achieved.

Having an open mind to understand others allows for connection and mutual love, even without spoken language. This principle applies not only to animals but also to human relationships. When we understand each other more deeply, we can progress towards a better society together.

PROGRAM LOCATION INTRODUCTION

LOCATION INTRODUCTION

Location:     Goa, India

Goa is a coastal city in western India with a unique atmosphere, shaped by its 450 years as a Portuguese colony. It offers a different vibe from what one might typically imagine about India. Every year, numerous international tourists visit Goa’s beaches to enjoy their holidays. Experience the diverse charms of Goa, from fresh and affordable food and vibrant night markets to non-stop clubs and various festivals!

Recommended Travel Destinations

01 Basilica of Bom Jesus

One of the Roman Catholic churches built during the Portuguese colonial era, the Basilica of Bom Jesus boasts over 500 years of history. Once nicknamed the ‘Rome of the East’, Goa still has traces of its Catholic heritage throughout the city. The basilica, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier, which, according to legend, have not decayed even centuries after his death. See this miraculous historical relic for yourself!

02 Hot Air Balloon Ride

Enjoy various activities available in Goa, such as paragliding and scuba diving. One of these activities is the hot air balloon ride. Take a ride in a giant hot air balloon and admire the stunning panoramic views of Goa from the sky. The slowly drifting experience will create unforgettable memories. Experience a lifetime moment high above Goa!

03 Fontainhas

Fontainhas is a Latin Quarter located in Panaji, the capital of Goa. The narrow streets lined with Portuguese-era mansions give the feeling of being in Europe rather than India. Walk through the vibrant, colorful buildings and capture memorable photos! As you stroll, you can feel the traces of the centuries-old history. You can also find traditional Goa restaurants serving local cuisine, offering a unique experience in an exotic setting.
