Muay Thai is a traditional Thai martial art and combat sport that has been practiced for around 1000 years. Muay Thai is a martial art that uses all parts of the body, so it has a lower frequency of punches and steps compared to boxing and requires more focus on maintaining body balance. Experience the opportunity to train intensively with a renowned trainer while enjoying the blue beaches of Phuket, Thailand. Discover your inner strength and train both body and mind with Muay Thai!
PROJECT ACTIVITIES
This project will be conducted in English. English Proficiency ★☆☆☆☆ Since the class focuses on physical activity, basic English skills sufficient for simple communication and understanding the class are enough to participate. |
Building Inner Strength and Confidence
Muay Thai is not only effective for physical training but also for developing inner strength and confidence. Learning Muay Thai requires a lot of patience and practice. Through these activities, you'll learn how to manage yourself to achieve your goals. Muay Thai helps you develop self-control through repeated tough training and build courage and resilience through matches with different partners. You'll also learn how to respect others and plan future strategies.
Muay Thai for Beginners
This project is conducted by renowned trainers with a background in Muay Thai, so it is open to everyone from beginners to experts. Whether you want to participate in actual matches, learn about Muay Thai, lose weight, or just take a break, you can join regardless of gender or age. Each trainer is assigned up to 5 participants, and one-on-one training is available for an additional fee. Participants can choose their schedule and duration according to their needs: one week, two weeks, a month, or more.
6 Days a Week, 2 Hours Each Morning and Afternoon
Training is conducted 6 days a week for 2 hours each morning and afternoon. Training content varies by participant level, but generally includes warming up, stretching, running (1-10km), skipping (15 minutes), shadow boxing (3 rounds), bag work (3 rounds), pad work (3-5 rounds), clinch/sparring (3 rounds), fitness exercises, shadow boxing (2 rounds), cool down, and stretching.
■ Warm Up, Stretching
Warm-up is crucial in any martial art or sport. Without proper warm-up and stretching, it can negatively impact your body. In Muay Thai, it's essential to loosen up your muscles and joints. Since Muay Thai involves heavy use of the knees, it's important to loosen the knee joints. Also, make sure to stretch the ankles, lower back, and neck to relieve muscle tension.
■ Running, 1-10 Km
Running helps to strengthen the shins and improve cardiovascular health, which is beneficial for applying Muay Thai techniques. It builds endurance for future activities like bag work, pad work, and matches, and is essential for strengthening leg muscles required for Muay Thai.
■ Shadow Boxing
Shadow boxing is an important practice method in Muay Thai, involving simulating an opponent to study and master all techniques of attack and defense. It is very helpful for developing strategies against opponents. Practicing in front of a mirror is effective, and it's recommended to repeat 2-3 rounds.
■ Bag Work
Bag work is great for practicing punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. Hitting the bag provides a realistic feel and helps adjust your movements and timing. To protect your knuckles and wrists, make sure to wrap your hands, and focus on accuracy over speed and power in the beginning.
■ Pad Work
Pad work is an advanced training method that should be done with someone knowledgeable in Muay Thai. It helps you learn attack and defense techniques as if in a real match and allows you to identify and work on your strengths and weaknesses, helping you master higher-level Muay Thai skills.
■ Participate in Muay Thai Matches
If participants want to take part in actual matches, they can compete with opponents of similar levels at the Muay Thai stadium after passing a fitness and skill assessment. Take this training project as an opportunity to improve your fitness and skills and aim to compete at the Muay Thai stadium in Phuket.
■ Watch Muay Thai Matches
Participants in the Muay Thai training project for more than two weeks will have the opportunity to watch Muay Thai matches held every Friday. Experience the passion of the fighters as you watch them in action while learning Muay Thai.
■ Explore Phuket
How about taking some time to relax and explore Phuket, the gem of Asia, outside of Muay Thai training? You can visit nearby beaches for swimming or enjoy some downtime reading a book. Taking a break from your daily routine to spend time on yourself can be a valuable experience for self-reflection.
* This Muay Thai training project is also effective for those who want to lose weight. Phuket's tropical climate naturally causes you to sweat a lot, and participants in this project have reported weight loss of 2-4 kg in the first week and around 10 kg over a month.
