    About the Provider

The organization carrying out this project is a nonprofit established in 2004 that operates to conserve the environment in the western United States. We carry out various environmental protection activities in national parks, forest areas, wildlife habitats, and public lands located in the western United States, a region rich in natural landscapes. Our organization leads conservation efforts not only in the United States but also internationally with volunteers from around the world.
Through our activities, we place great value on fostering a sense of community and cooperation, enabling multinational volunteers to understand each other’s cultures, build trust, and take on challenges together.

    Accommodation

When projects are not in session, volunteers stay in the Santa Cruz or South Lake Tahoe area.(The photos attached in the detailed description are actual photos of the Santa Cruz accommodation.)

Participants live with team members in accommodations directly managed and operated by the local organization. Because volunteers live together, they must follow the accommodation rules. Most volunteers stay in the Santa Cruz area (in the case of South Lake Tahoe, accommodations are unusable from October to April due to very cold weather). The accommodations are dormitory-style shared rooms, and meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are provided using ingredients purchased at local supermarkets.

Generally, meat, whole grains, dairy products, fruits, and vegetables are provided. However, meals are provided only on days when there is a project schedule and are not provided on weekends, so volunteers can shop for groceries themselves or cook in the kitchen provided at the accommodation. On days without scheduled activities, volunteers can travel individually or spend time freely with other volunteers.

Shared rooms (shared house and shared bedroom, 3–4 people per room, separated by gender)

Shared bathroom / meals provided / Wi-Fi available

If you will be camping for more than four weeks during the activity period or participating in a long-term project, you will stay at a camp.

At the camp, each person is provided with an individual tent. Participants must bring their own sleeping bag and sleeping pad accordingly.

(Work clothing and basic tableware are provided by the local organization.) If camping takes place, volunteers will use public restrooms.

    * Accommodations may change depending on local circumstances, and you may also stay at accommodations located in the northern Santa Cruz area. Arrangements are adjusted according to the time and location of the participant's activities.
