This project isa language study program to learn English in Seattle, a major city in the Pacific Northwest of the United StatesStart studying English with international friends from around the world in this cultural and business hub!

(Major participating nationalities: Japan, Saudi Arabia, Colombia, Korea (13%), China, Turkey, Brazil, etc.)


Additional Information

  • This project isstarts every Monday.
  • This project runs year-round, and participantscan choose a study period between 1 and 12 weeks.
  • There are 15 hours of English classes per weekavailable.Small groups of 12 to 16 studentsand are conducted with 12–16 students per group, focusing on reading and writing, grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and pronunciation improvement.

  • Four weeks before the project starts, a level test will be conducted to pre-assign students to classes. Based on the level test results and nationality ratios, students will be assigned to morning or afternoon classes.
    * If you want a guaranteed option to attend morning classes only for up to 12 weeks, additional fees may apply.
  • The class timetable and orientation schedule will be sent to students on the Friday of the week before studies begin.
  • On the project's first day, Monday, students follow the provided timetable when arriving at school and participate in both orientation and classes. If a student did not take the placement test in advance, they may take the level test on the morning of the first day and then attend the orientation.
    * If the project's first day (Monday) is a public holiday, the project will start on the next day (Tuesday).
  • Accommodations include homestay and residence (2 types)You can additionally choose from these options.For homestays, travel by public transportation is possible depending on the location, and it takes about 50–70 minutes to reach the school; for residences it takes about 20–40 minutes. Public transportation is convenient if you purchase a monthly pass (about 81 USD).

Accommodation

This accommodation places you with carefully selected host families chosen by the organization so you can experience the local culture up close. In a comfortable atmosphere, you can naturally improve your language skills by conversing in English with the family. Families with experience hosting a variety of students are assigned, allowing you to begin life in Seattle in an environment full of understanding and consideration.

  • It takes approximately 50–70 minutes to get to the school by public transportation.
  • If you require a special diet, please inquire in advance.
  • Additional fees apply during the peak season (early June to late August) and the Christmas period (late December).

  • Room cleaning is included once a week.
  • Check-in is 3:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM.

Installment Payment Information

If it is difficult to pay the full amount, you may reserve your place by paying a KRW 500,000 registration fee in advance and paying the remaining balance within two weeks. From the date the registration fee is paid, the process to confirm project participation will begin, and your eligibility to participate and available slots will be checked. To secure participation on your desired date and for your desired period, it is important to reserve quickly! (No refunds once participation is confirmed)

* However, if the start date is imminent, the schedule for paying the remaining balance may vary depending on the situation.

Early Bird Discount and Emergency Application Information

All Gap Year projects require normal processing procedures and a Gap Year preparation period, so projects are recommended to be applied for at least 3 months before the project start date.and,as a rule, applications should be submitted no later than 2 months before the start date.However, if there are unavoidable reasons or you urgently need to join a project, by paying an additional fee through the emergency application service, we will assist with expedited processing as quickly as possible.

*We assist with the fastest possible processing, but there is a basic amount of time required for communication with local organizations and for confirming participation. Since all procedures proceed the same as for regular participants, those applying through the emergency application service must actively cooperate with the Korea Gap Year operations team.

**Participants who apply at least 180 days before the start date are eligible for the Early Bird discount.
